Happy Easter everyone. Well done to those who had a crack at the Hawkes Bay Rally. Our own Peter Weir managed to steer his Legacy into 3rd for the Central Region Series only weeks after being one of 12 making it into the Rally NZ Junior scholarship test weekend held in Auckland while we held the Whariti Hillclimb. Well done Peter, I hear that was with just a "runner" engine after the "good one" let go. I also didn't realise you were still under 21! Hopefully we will see a good number of you lot out at Prenters next Sunday, 19 April. $30 entry for those who weren't part of the Whariti helper crew ($10 otherwise). Documentation will start at 9.30am at the venue. If there aren't many there I'm sure it will turn into a Feck Family test session as Dad has his Pulsar back and its going to take a bit of learning, my FTO project is finally going and I might get that out there albeit without a cage, and the V6 wagon should be going again after the old fulla tipped Mum over in it at Wanganui. I suppose you can add to those the possibility of the V8 Imp or Monarodore being dragged out as well. After that our next event will be an Autocross (maybe a Bent Sprint) on 17 May using Ruanui Rd not far from Ormondville. Last year we ran this event using only the tight section of the road to try and recover costs after a dismal lack of entries in our attempt to run the full length of the road as a rallysprint. It went off well and the style of event fits better with most of the members of our club. Entry fee for the Autocross will be $25, if it is a sprint it will be $40. low key skid at Prenters Metal Pit on the 26th July. $20 entry fee and 9.30 -10.15am documentation. Give Rod a call (06 374 1535) for more infoHopefully we will run Otaria Rd in August, and Prenters again in October though we are in need of some good keen people to undertake a fair chunk of the organisation (assisted) for these events. If you are interested please reply to this email and I can help steer you in the right direction. Its not as hard as you might think, just a set of jobs that need to be done. Other events we are planning are a gravel sprint on 26 Sept - Tararua Rd, Pahiatua. This is the stage normally used in the Daybreaker, and another gravel sprint on 1st Nov - Cemetery Rd, Kumeroa, a road that we have not used before but looks promising for a bit of fun. CheersDaniel

Hi to you all Just a quick reminder that entries close on 18 Sept - yes next Friday - for the Dannevirke Car Club Tararua Road Gravel Sprint. If you are competing next weekend at Guavas - send your entry form to me by the 18th, and if you misfortune should visit you, then let me know by Monday night, 21st and I can withdraw your entry, no penalties, or I can keep it for the Gravel sprint on 1 November - whichever you choose. Tararua is an excellent road. For those of you having done the Daybreaker Rally you will know how great the road is.
