  2. Just drive it like you don't care about it, don't think about the consequences and you will be fine. An EJ20R TT in 3rd/4th gear is generally very close to as fast as an STI. I know when I was young and naughty I definitely surprised a few STI and EVO owners. But really the best feature of the TT wagon is it's ability to go sideways. They are very loose cars if you drive them hard enough on road tyres. Ohh and related topic, I have a BH5 as my tow car, and ended up using it as a safety car on Targa last year, 5 min gap and I still managed to catch some of the Targa Tour cars in some stages... Although to be fair that car does have 4 pots on it, as I had some fire issues with the stock brakes.

  4. Generally they come with the boost gauge but if it didnt come with one then any hose fitting shop or your local supercheap/repco will have them on a champion stand. You can use either brass or plastic. They are known as T Fittings/T piece..well thats what i know them as anyway Hose diameter depends on the fitting you have on your boost gauge but most people use 4-8mm vac hose(i like having a few different sizes spare just incase) This can be bought by the meter from supercheap/repco aswell.

  7. agreed, though often laws are written in nebulous waffle open to multiple interpretation, and pushed through with too much haste

  8. Hey guys, just had a question about my boost level on my 2003 STI. Car is currently running 23.4PSI peak boost, which just seems a bit high, or is it safe? Past research leads me to believe around 21 is the highest you want to go. It drops down to around 17-18 across the end of the rev range however. Is running the stock JDM VF37 Twin Scroll Turbo. Is tuned on 98 octane running the following mods: - Front Mount Intercooler - RAGE catless downpipe - HKS mid-pipe and tip - DW200 In-Tank Fuel Pump - Apexi Air Intake Kit - Link 3-Port Boost Solenoid Tuner has told me the car sounds fine and is not struggling under boost whatsoever, which is why he set it to this. Just have that 21 figure set in my head of the highest safe number. Should I ask him to lower the boost level. He is a very reputable tuner and has tuned hundreds of these cars, just it has me worried. Any information is appreciated!

  11. It does both It heats up the oil during the first minutes and it cools it down when you drive the car hard. They install it for cooling purposes though

  12. Ok cool. Just making sure that i wasnt running some bad times. Lol I ran a 13.6 at 4&rotas in january at meremere. Had alot of wheelspin in first gear and a little bit in 2nd as track didnt seem prepped very well (if at all lol). Hoping to go back in a couple weeks and try for a better time.

  13. Only just saw this. Few good ones around town that specialise in subaru stuff. Automotive Technicians on Commerce Street are good with subaru stuff. They have a BC5 rally car at their shop at the moment so proof they are good at what they do. Also i have changed jobs and am no longer at Supercheap. I'm now working for Extreme Automotive who are a parts distributor so if you need parts let me know Automotive Technicians are right next door to me too haha

  16. Just an FYI, all the NZKW bases are made by Kyouu, branded as NZKW. The same goes for the NZKW FIA Seats (which I have and use).

  17. When it comes to "professional" installation, you really only get what you pay for. If you want them to remove your dash to bury the module and incorporate its wiring into your factory looming that'll cost a whole lot more money as it takes a lot of time.

  18. A mate's "professionally" installed alarm really opened my eyes as to how easy it can be done. He drowned his remote so we needed to bypass the alarm and it took us all of 2 minutes. Also side note; we had a mates paddock racer going missing (2L n/a impreza). No battery or gas, 4 flat or popped tires, rwd/welded diff with 1 snapped axle, almost if not every panel dented. Why would you...

  19. Track day coming up on the 8th of march and need to get the Foresters rear brakes up to scratch and some more camber on the rear. So ordered the hardrace camber and toe kit and got some 2 pot rear brakes to go on. Just waiting for the adapter brackets from USA now.
