  2. I freakin love having Ac... I also wouldnt cut a hole in the roof of an sti for a sunroof. Ra scoop? Hells yes. Actually quietly hunting for one for my v7 sti wagon... I think a scoop and those rear window vents on a wagon would look freakin baws

  3. Perhaps moving to Wellington might be the solution to your problems. No need for open windows if it's raining, cos its cold. If it's not raining, its cold. If it's cold, you better believe its damn cold. If it's sunny, yup, you guessed it, it's still f'n cold. No need for anything other the heater set on feet all year round.

  4. That's an incorrect translation and not why they break actually. Basically the warning is to not OPEN them above 100kp/h, not use. They're more than happy to stay open above 100kph, it's just when muppets like my friend who decided it'd be a great idea to open the roof vent at 110, open it and the wind gets under it all of a sudden creating lots of shock load, which breaks the plastic or in some cases rips the entire thing off. Moral of the story, just don't open it over 100kp/h and if you do, just be very careful and hold onto it so it doesn't open with a shock.

  7. Thoroughly good experience. I've a 2006 Legacy 3.0R which I booked in via their website for transmission service and brake system flush. Contact was responded to on the same day and job was booked. Arrived this morning at opening time. Was attended to promptly by the knowledgeable lady at the front desk - indicated I was happy to wait for work to be conducted (no choice really as I work a fair distance away). This wasn't a problem, was offered power point for laptop and coffee. I was picked up by a friend and left the site for a while. The mechanic phoned me to inform me that my brake pads had been incorrectly fitted - he'd taken photos which he showed me when I returned. Satisfied with the work undertaken which matched the quoted price. Other vehicle deficiencies were also pointed out. Invoice was very detailed as to the work done and the method used to do it. It was definitely worth the drive out there and I am happy in the knowledge that this garage knows what their doing and offers great customer at the same time. They've just secured a new customer.

  9. Oops, not up to speed on the model codes for fancy 5th Gen legacies, haha. I only would have been able to name the liberal mufflers as they have the hideous square tips (:P) and the Wangan. "Impressive", my wife would probably use a different word....

  12. Even for race it should stay imo, I know of race cars that specifically have it either added or keep it for fogging in damp cold conditions and keeping your wits about you in the hot summery days. sure it depends on what you are racing but as far as a street legal WRX goes i don't see the benefits of removing it. That said some people never use AC even if they have it so by all means remove it eheh. i love taking both sides of these scenarios.. its just unfortunate that you as the current owner now need it I have no idea how hard it is to put AC back in, someone on here can give you the details. Removing it from a car from pick a part and getting it back into yours might be rather easy but then you may have the costs of re-gasing etc. Just not sure.

  13. nah i don't have an RA, couldn't give up on those creature comforts of electric windows and such.. though funny enough couple of my electric window / mirror control buttons are broken so i'm worse off until i fix it haha.. also i think RA does come with AC. +1 yep if it was up to me i would have kept it. do not recommend anyone take AC out unless dedicated track car. the weight savings are so minimal. i'm no expert but previous owner said it was a full ac delete so probably a mission to put back in. how hard a job you reckon that would be? agreed would be useful in this colder weather too, just managing interior fog with rainx anti fog coating for now got quoted RA scoop for $550 and if anyone knew a reputable installer (mindful of rust, leakage, tidy job inside and out) i could seek out a quote from for labour .. this could be something i would consider in the near future as someone above said for wank factor mainly, but it has its practical purpose in my case too

  14. I thought RAs didn't come with AC to save weight and make it more racey? So it wasn't removed, it was never added in? But I'm a legacy man so don't take my word for it;)

  15. Get one from a reputable rally supplier then, as they should be designed to be used in a rally so should easily cope with 200KM/h etc. In theory...

  18. yeah i tried it with my strength/fitness crap when was in to that too haha, at best got a few free tubs of protein and some equipment but wasn't worth the effort in general. same reason i didn't bother trying too much go down that route with car. just enjoy taking a good photo here and there and applying filters to it to share 'round. atleast she's putting a good effort in to it, you got to give it a go to see what it's like and shes not buying her followers, imo is just sad when people do that!
