  7. I want to buy a tyre off someone in Auckland but it's pick up only, in Waitakere City. Is there someone around who would be willing to pick it up and look after it until we sort out a way to get it to me in Wellington? Mainfreight courier or something of the like? Cheers

  8. Looong time ago it seemed to be a bit of a rumour that cars were cheaper in Auckland than say Christchurch due to supply/demand. So I heard, going back 10 years that is! Is there any truth in that now (or ever?) do you think? Or is just down to cars individual condition at the time of sale? Which to me feels more likely. Guessing people won't be travelling miles to pick a car, definitely not trying to factor in a ferry crossing to grab a bargain unless it is something very rare or exotic. But is there a distinct 'South Island Tax' on second hand prices, in cars say generally in the 1-10K$ range?

  10. 'Winter-proofed' my car, applied rain-x and rain-x fog repellent to windscreen fitted new triton flex wipers new headlight bulbs (Narva H4 Plus 130s) I've done about 4 trips to Tauranga and back (I'm from Auckland) and usually go down on a Friday night after work. Usually, it's very wet/foggy/dark. Tested bulbs in my driveway and they seem OK, I expected similar to what I've had in new cars (I've driven a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C180, 2014 Holden Malibu, and 2016 Toyota Corolla for reference) but then I remembered I don't have HID projectors or bulbs. Duh.

  11. yo werent you considering doing the whole exhaust at some stage? why not just wait it out and do the full exhaust system in one go with 3" all the way? about whether it needs cat for wof, found this from VIRM which is what the Wof person (should) reference when checking your car. tldr if your car was registered in NZ before may 2010 (which it most likely was, but double check on carjam) then you are fine to remove it. if it makes it significantly louder tho then thats another can of worms . also check the rules around smoke, can't be smokey at 2500rpm. might also need someone to adjust ecu so it doesnt throw CEL? https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/exhaust/exhaust-emissions

  12. I cant see any issues, should be good to go. by the look of that one on TM it is an old Rage unit so the flange maynot fit with the stock mid-pipe. little things like that you have to keep in mind. @evowrx If you have a moment proof read the above banter. chur chur

Unsure how to get a cat to wof though. thats mostly a dog thing. ......Sorry, I'm more sarcastic that usual on a friday... You can bash them out with a combination of tools or cut it out entirly and weld in a new section but thats a whole other set of tools

  15. Ended up buying them, near new re003s on them too. Handle so much better than my old tyres, way less road noise and 45 profile so my speedo reads (more) accurate!!
