  1. It feels as though it has been a very very long time since Taupo... especially as I have been a pedestrian since then. I am pleased to say that my little car is finally back on the road with a freshly rebuilt engine... and it only took three months.

  3. I had type some stuff and it was lost due to a failed attachment. Please note most of the time, I reply when I am working or tuning. I do not have time to be wordy and I know it is not the best communication. Tuning takes priority over trying to convey stuff that I think persons can use common sense to achieve they requested answers. I am taking time out to reply to you all here, when I apologies to a new customer (referral to XRT) because I am currently doing the following (all at once) and remembered this forum: Currently working on a 2008 USDM EZ30 Supercharged 2015 2.5i Legacy 2004 JDM STI w/ Blouch Dom 1.5XRT TS running 28PSI+ 2004+ ADM H6 EZ30 w/ new Raptor Header and customer requesting feedback on if tuning is needed - http://www.xtremeracingtuning.com/forum/download/file.php?id=1919 Preparing for 2014 USDM 3.6 5EAT for Supercharging Preparing a 2012 USDM 3.6 5EAT for Supercharging Tuning a 2004 JDM EZ30 5EAT in New Zealand who started tuning last night in the bad weather. All of this I am doing while on vacation so that come Monday, I have have a little peace of mind that all cars are safe while I vacation, spending time with my family and kds.

  6. I like subtle kits. One of the main reasons I picked up my Legacy was due to the Zerosports kit. It's just different from every other Legacy out there without the average Joe noticing:

  7. Ok so from the other side of the coin.... Pak files are only released when Japan find an issue with programming, or owners experience same faults that can be fixed with programming. Harsh shifts are 99% of the time sorted with a fluid change (filter too if fitted) and a relearn. As stated, a relearn involves Clear Memories 2 (aka shift maps) and then a test drive, which needs to be done under very specific conditions. The pak file isn't always going to cure your issue. You may have harsh 2-3 upshift. A pak update for improved temp sensor logic (for example) probably isn't going to help you. And yes, Subaru NZ charge $40 + gst to the dealer for obtaining files for non-NZ new vehicles. Where available, updates can be for pretty much any ecu in the car, but don't count on there being one for you. A MY05 GT will have a different trans file to an MY06 GT, which will also be different to a MY06 3.0R. We can't just chuck any old version in. The programming software kicks us out if the ecu number and pak number don't match, bar version numbers.

  8. The 99 GTB can be tuning I believe using EcuTek. Using ecuflash, no! That year GTB uses the JECS ECU written on the box. Just double check. Otherwise, you would have try converting over to the 2001 year using the Denso ECU. Or you could install the LINK G4+ or another EMS to run it. Have a quick read here -http://xtremeracingtuning.com/2017/04/17/emspowertrain-review-thoughts/ If you are going with EMS after your long thoughts, you can look into a Powertrain solution as highlighted in that post to help you determine what you can use. But remember, any proper solution beyond the OEM will be a little costly.

  9. Hey Guys I have basically finished my ez30 turbo project and I am looking for someone to remote tune it. Has anyone had any experience with remote tuning?

  10. Remote tuning is easy and yet difficult. Difficult based on time and road access. Remote tuning is no different to live upfront tuning, but even more safer, because things are done slowly. once all the logging params are log, you capture all the events of the engine + being on the phone with the customer or customer detail feedback. If any of you need clarification, just drop me an email and I will come back on and reply. It is not easy tuning (practically takes up too much of my time because I Fine Tune) and trying to be on forums.

  11. auckland based fuels - @Batbaruman gull force 10 is 10% ethanol blend mobil 98 is their same old 98, no ethanol blend. that only pops up south of about taupo, i know for a fact its blended at bulls mobil. bp98 is bp98... lol and the 4 stations around here that you can get e85 at the pump

  12. Mobil 98 has ethanol in it which should help lower combustion Temps. It will run a tiny bit leaner but nothing to worry about if tune is good. Mobil 98 should cause no issues

  14. recent S*** storm aside about advertising on the forum...XRT from Barbados has tuned the raptor supercharger on an H6/EZ30 gen 4 legacy and has a good knowledge of the ez30. His english isn't great, but he is super responsive and knows his stuff.

  15. Might find that alot of the dyno tuners around don't know how to setup the stock ECU to include boost control or just don't want to open that can of worms. In general quite a few of the E-Tuners come from IT backgrounds so have a much deeper understanding of things and how to add additional tables not present currently.

  16. Had a similar knock, only occured at low speeds (or at least was noticeable then) while going over cracks or small bumps. Turned out one of the swaybar links had a fair bit of play (Cusco ffs), luckily 2as under warranty and got my 💰 back.. Check the links are nice and tight, check there's no play at sway bar bush mounts.
