  5. The airbag doesn't randomly go off. The issue is with moisture causing corrosion in the inflator casing which can rupture on airbag deployment, sending bits of shrapnel out inside the airbag. Currently only NZ new vehicles are being recalled, all gen 4s for Legacys. Unless you bought your car in the last couple of months, you'd know if it's been replaced or not - you would have had it in at your local dealer. So far my work has done 40 or so. Got them down to just over an hour, and yes, the dash comes out. There's no point annoying your dealer about it. Unless you've had the letters from Subaru NZ, just sit in the queue like the rest of us.

  9. Before you go do that though, take off the idle control valve and make sure it isn't stuck or hard to move. Sometimes they get stuck and cause the hunting that you're speaking of. EDIT: Never mind about the ICV. Didn't realise you'd already replaced it.

  10. Yea no sticker on those. They are an insert type and theres only a turbo and non turbo version.

  11. Your one won't have any sticker nah. Version 5-6 I believe did away with that. That's the part number and it is available? So maybe you got the wrong one or something. 22794AA010

  12. I think it is in front of the radiator down the bottom of the bumper somewhere. Mine definitely gets heat soaked, however the reading is fairly reliable after the car has been moving for 5mins or so. As boon said I just use it to keep an eye on when it may be icy and to complain that it is way too hot in the summer!

  13. 1. They just aren't that accurate 2. They read from somewhere that gets heat soak to a degree, so if you drive the car a bit then park it then hop back in it will read slightly warm They really don't mean sweet F/A, I just know that if it's reading about 3 or lower then there's a good chance of ice/slippery.

  17. It was two big end bearings. The crank was not salvageable nor were the rods. Head was fine and block got a little machining. V7 Sti crank rods and pistons went in. The sump has also been extended and baffled. Back to to the shop in a week or two for new injectors and a link.
