  2. Same setup but with an small adaptor from up pipe to turbo to get rid of the angle on turbo so it sits level.. This is to make oil drain easier from core..Tony is going to make it with two flanges etc.. Ended up with Mamba # 001 0041.. Td05 20G Comp 52.5/68 GTX 11 blade.. Turbine 49.2/56 12 blade Inconel.. 3 inch anti surge housing.. 8cm .64 hot side.. Good times..

  3. Neh, identical between the years. We can compare when we get the CS OB gang (as coined by @Andy_Mac) together.

  5. Reminds me I should probably get one for mine. Have marked all camber bolts/bushes so they go in the same orientation but probably had them out half a dozen times atleast since the last alignment so the chances of them being right are pretty slim Kinda swaying towards coilovers too, the new CS Outback gang with their sweet sweet lows have made me a believer

  7. What about an aggressive cutting compound and some elbow grease?

  8. I doubt they'll do anything for track times but they feel great on the pedal. They seem okay, back ones were perhaps a little short but that's probably because they're GC8 lines on a BF5.

  9. Swapped adjusties for KYB/King supers, replaced all sway bar links with Whiteline items, installed Goodridge braided lines, cleaned out all the rubbish and washed the thing in the dark after work for a hopeful WOF tomorrow. What a drag

  10. Motomuck has released a bottlenof dragons breath equivalent, but significantly cheaper. Works really well. Get in to it with a stiff bristled brush, you may have to go over the rims a few times to loosen everything up

  11. The insides are always a pain to get clean especially if its not painted or anything, the brake dust and crap just sticks and its also hard to access when its on the car. When you get them clean you wanna keep em clean even if u take em off once a month and get right inside. As far as cleaning it, Im not too sure how to get rid of all the crap on the inside other than wheel cleaners and things. Would also like to see if there is a way to get it off tho. Edit: If its not painted or anything, whats stopping you sanding it all back and giving it a coat of paint and clear coat.

  12. With my new heads my 6k rpm limit is a thing of the past more like 8k when run in - well I don't wanna get too ahead of myself but I'm hoping for decent increase in all areas really

  13. his redline is like 6k rpm, wouldn't the power band be suuuper short based on the turbo you selling for cars of that gen?

  16. Cheers..I was pondering between 7 and 8 cm.. The anti surge cover is cool.. Don't mind if it spools a bit later as the coupe is low geared.. I think that's the logic.. time will tell..

  19. Never enough money when you are making changes.. You have made giant strides with the RS..

  20. Yes .Keith stewart will be tuning .. Have got to fit stock headers and modify turbo mount to sit turbo level.. Then modify down pipe to suit.. Then tune for 300whp.. Run it for a while like that and then rebuild engine and run in.. Followed by touchup tune with maybe another 20-30 whp.. Sounds easy........................... But its not.

  21. Not going to shorten it to CS OBG? OBG is one of the shorthands for "Obstetrics and Gynecology", haha.

  22. The rears on mine weren't bad... used a mate and a jack to make things a little smoother. I also made some cuts in the carpet around the top hats so I could get in there nice and easy

  23. Fair call I guess, on the BP its as simple as folding the rear seats down and popping the boot floor liner out though the old BE was much more frustrating Maybe the 04 is a little simpler?

  24. By the time you remove the rear interior and get it all back together though... Less hassle with the front as there ain't any obstructions.

  25. Really! I find that fascinating haha literally 3 things to loosen for the rears

  26. LOL @Andy_Mac. When the Outbacks are lower than the legacies there is something wrong;) If you do, keep me in mind for your pinks, as I may have a GTB that could use them in near future...

  27. Yeah theyre tidy, cwest is more wider and aggressive looking but oem v5 is pretty much the same. Ive seen someone use the rubber garage door stops as the lip, cheap and easy to do at home

  28. Sorry I don't know of a map unfortunately. There is a thread about Christchurch stations with 98 in the Canterbury area sub-forum. South of chch I know of, Ashburton BP, (on main road by maccas) Timaru BP, Oamaru BP, Cromwell BP, (close to the giant fruit) Dunedin BP There are probably more on the east coast but Cromwell is the only inland station with 98 that I know of. Edit: I just had a look since I thought I might have seen a map before. The BPMe app on the iOS App Store lets you look for stations with 98 on a visual map.

  29. @delta the more I think about this the more I think the likely scenario is selling my wife's NA 2.0i, getting a turbo for my car/the daily and keeping the 3.0R as my wife's car/road trip/tow bar car. The alternative/sensible thing to do would be start commuting in my wife's 2.0i, but I think that would be soul destroying....

  30. Hmmm, well, great day for me. Last night cars temperature nearly hit red line. Fortunately for me have today off work.Checked header tank and sure enough it was empty Chucked water in, checked hoses and surprise of surprises there was no leak!!!! Then I noticed water dripping from heat shield on left hand side and thought 'this is strange' so jacked car up and lo and behold there was dripping which explains where all my water went! So I'm figuring it's my water pump. Contacted SAS who said it should have been done when cam belt was done (obviously) but the workshop I bought the car from said they did the cam belt when I bought the car some 40,000k ago. So Richard and I have worked out that they probably did do the cam belt and didn't bother doing said water pump. Probably why the garage has since shut down. FML. Anyways, have chucked bars leaks in as has water pump seal conditioner so hopefully it'll hold until I can afford to get new water pump. And this is my picture

  32. I think you miss the purpose of a WRC car, which is to go over any sort of roads at great speed, with unreal suspension travel to soak up virtually any surface and turn and stop better than anything else. And have massive grip. To get point to point you won't go quicker, as long as point to point involves some proper corners... All these things mean that it is utterly wasted on the road and as you say, in a straight line not that quick. Although I would say upto 200km/hr they would still eat your average road car due to the gearbox shift speed, lack of lag and ability to get off the line quickly... Ohh and don't believe the 300hp BS, even the modern 1.6L ones running a tiny 32mm restrictor made more than that (have now gone up to bigger restrictor and more power since). Either way, the guy driving one on the road has clearly got too much money or a really small willy that he needs to compensate for. It's a travesty that the car isn't being used properly... But I would say that, as I am a little biased and get frustrated about how many people pose in performance cars, when they should be out racing their cars and using that performance. Grumpy old man racer rant over.
