  1. Calculating flywheel figures with a percentage loss is utter bullshit. The only way to get a true crank figure is with an engine dyno.

  3. What does any of it matter? It's all just numbers. Times at a track or drag strip are a better reference. But what makes you smile is the most important given how much cars cost to modify!

  4. Where people go wrong is they stipulate a percentage for drivetrain loss say 15% for arguments sake to get crank power. Then they calculate that for a V7 sti with 160wkw and use the same calculation for a V7 sti with 300wkw with exactly the same drivetrain. You do the math... Engine dyno or bust.

  5. young dude , you do know it's total power at all the driven wheels, not per wheel. unless you can cheat physics, all 4wd cars will have more transmission losses.

  6. some bp's have given rise to false hope by having ultimate advertising but no ultimate 98, just ultimate diesel.

  8. Yea dyno inconsistancy is definately a real thing but is still more accurate than chucking a random percentage at a wheel figure and saying thats what the crank makes, then you open up the argument of whether it should be a percentage or a set power loss which would stay the same at higher power levels. I’d be mildly concerned that this model needs to exist though. Same part number as the one you’re getting but with an A slapped on the end. I know they had steering knuckle clearance issues with US designed Invidia (plus others) DP’s on RHD 4th gen Legacy’s so might find a similar issue with this one unless you’ve done the research and found some other RHD ones running the one you’re getting. http://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/catless-down-pipe-australian-spec-wrx-sti-08-14.html

  10. Haha, if that is the problem, my tips for you would be : 1. Find the speed at which it starts to understeer 2. Take the next corner at the same speed while braking slightly (this way the front end gets more grip and you avoid understeer) 3. As soon as the car starts to go sideways, release the brake and play with the throttle. On an AWD with LSD, you should always keep some throttle while being sideways, if you don't the rear wheels will likely lock and you can spin And of course start with a corner with a lot of space and visibility in case it doesn't go as planned. Have fun !

  12. just say no to instagram filters for the car, stick to oem, they aren't expensive and a known quantity.

  13. I've heard rumours that Mobile here in Mosgiel is getting 98 soon, I'm looking forward to that, as it's 20KM closer than the nearest BP with 98 to me!

  14. Only BP sell 98 in the south Island to my knowledge. The best/last place to fill up would be BP Mashlands - Corner of Marshland and Prestons Road. Its just on 450 kms to Blenheim which has 98 as well. How big is the tank and whats your Average consumption? Might just make it

  15. We did this drive recently, thankfully the legacy could do that whole trip on one tank as I didn't spot a single 98 pump the whole way....

  16. Always thought that might be an issue, if that’s the case I’ll get the downpipe modified, just didn’t wanna have my car off the road otherwise I would’ve had a custom one made Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Why exactly is it unfair? Unless talking stock figures you never accurately know what the crank figures are so it’s completely pointless as you just chuck a few more percent at the guestimated driveline loss to bump what the crank may see

  19. Ordered a invidia downpipe from the states, gonna get a ecutek remap and dyno tune done when it arrives. Bye bye warranty... but the way I see it if anything was gonna go wrong it would have already Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. oh he sells his body at all hours. It doesn't really net much extra cash. really only covers upkeep of the 1-800 number 1-800-Dial-a-ginge a pay to call service where you talk to a bearded ginger fellow. Sent from my Baked potato using Telekinesis

  22. I had funny things happen to my dash when a battery terminal wasn't getting contact with battery. Check the battery cables. Otherwise you will have to post up model details at the least.
