  5. Ohh that looks mint! The wheels IRL would be a lot more clean looking and less bright I think so it would be sweet haha. Do you think white wheels and tyre lettering or just lettering? $200 is expensive but it makes it look so good I think.

  7. Will be very interested to see what figures you achieve, what mods do you currently have on your bg5? Or what do you plan to run? I myself run the zerosports 87 Ecu for rev c bg5 manual, however I haven't been able to find out what parameters have been changed over the stock ecu

  9. Possibly a dodgy crank angle sensor. If the ecu doesn't get a signal from it, it assumes the engine isn't running or cranking so doesn't fire injectors or coils. It also doesn't throw a code unless it fails while running. The ecu looks for crank angle first to determine where the pistons are on the stroke, then cam angle to determine which stroke, then water temp to adjust injection quantity. If there's no crank signal, it doesn't look for the rest.

  10. I've struck this a lot. Not sure if they're supposed to be factory fitted or not, but when doing the PDI from new, I've found heaps not fitted and the plate in the glovebox. I would just rivet them on, but I don't know what other techs did. There's nothing to say it has to have it, there's a stamped VIN on the firewall.

  13. Yep, 30mm. Chunky things. I've always thought the Brembos were more for bling than anything else, if a cheap brake upgrade is what you're after the LGT brakes are where it's at - bonus points for them being being completely inconspicuous unless you get pulled up by someone who knows Subarus well enough to tell that an Outback shouldn't have 316mm fronts and vented rears.

  14. I had a few import agents looking for it in Japan, and I had been on a lot of auction sites. However I was very lucky and found it in a BG5 Legacy at Pick a Part Avondale in Auckland. I originally saw it 2 weeks earlier and thought it was a crappy turbo timer. Here are the photos of the unit, the BG5 harness and the ecu it came off. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3SvNIEJMAKCSHM0N1J5Rmt0cGs I also purchased a MINES ECU from a auction site: buyee.jp I will be doing a stock dyno assessment at PBMS first. Then I will be installing the MINES ECU and doing another dyno assessment at PBMS. Its just precautionary to see if there are any improvements or if the Legacy is leaning out etc. According to MINES they have people running these ECU on 98RON fuel without problems. This is the information on the ECU from MINES: This VX-ROM is for a Middle version (as in early middle late) Manual Transmission BG5 Ej20T Fuel Mapping and ignition timing optimized Speed limiter removed Boost set at 1.0kg/cm2 Rev limit expanded +300 For use with the normal type air cleaner Designed for use with 100 ron octane rated fuel. Thank you MINE'S

  15. Holy S*** $120 for a complete wank purely cosmetic mod? No thanks. If it was like $30 maybe, they look cool on a few cars where they fit the styling of the entire vehicle.

  16. I used SP500 on my Legacy 3.0R with standard rotors and it was doing at least 5+ laps of Taupo without issue. Boostin might be able to chime in, he was able to get better lap times than me out of the car, on what I assume are the same pads.

  17. But then people would have to learn engine codes, that's never going to happen. We'll tackle that when we manage to get people to stop calling the Gen 4 H6 "EZ30R"...

  24. Just inspected my brakes Rear pads look fine even though rear rotors are not vented : On the other hand, looks like front pads got a little hot It says Silverline at the back of the pads, is that a brand ? Anybody knows that sh*t ? Will keep that in mind, thanks mate. Regarding EBC, tried it once, it didn't work out so well for me. Here's a pic of yellowstuff after only one track day : Pic is from a mate, needless to say he didn't like EBC either

  25. yeah i have a bunch of lettering pens in from ebay a while back when was considering.. after reading about how high maintenance it would be once applied i gave up on that idea. theres a few tyre shops now that do them stickers for $2 or $3 a letter installed.
