  7. The only identification the car has when it arrives in NZ is the numbers on that tag (which are repeated around the car in a few places) - they are pretty important for the car's identification. I could tell you my Legacy's full chassis number/"VIN" off by heart, I had to provide it that many times when I brought the car in. The NZTA "VIN" that you get issued when you register it is a different matter entirely.

  8. You have the harness so it is super simple! Plug the harness in between the ecu and stock harness then plug the bullet connectors into the harness. It does look like you need to solder/splice a few wires back together on the controller. You can remove the face plate from the main board if you need better access. I have a spare controller at home that doesn’t work so can take some pics later so you can see where that wire goes if need be?

  9. Not today, but on Saturday I swapped the gearbox out for a much shorter one with a plated center diff, swapped the rear diff out for a very tight viscous, and replaced the rear left hub so that the wheel is actually straight and doesn't have permanent positive camber! Handles completely differently now, the old rear diff was practically open, and the old center was just as useless. It'll happily be thrown into corners sideways in gravel now, which is exactly what I wanted. Here's hoping I can handle it at the next hillclimb! The built engine will go back in next, have sorted all the noises and it'll be ready for another tune when I have the money.

  10. And from the other side of the coin as a Winger tech.... A lot of the time we get told to check and clear the code, check for anything obvious and kick it out. They'll get the cust to monitor. What the front counter people tell you, we don't know.

  13. Pretty sure its that one, 50-1000 seems correct. I used factory sock as I was told to, idk if its bigger/smaller. Just brought it straight up, didnt ask for subaru kit or anything. From the kit that you receive, the only things I used were the pump, hose (and clamps) and gasket to hold the fuel sock on. I didnt use any wiring or anything else. also used factory rubber seat/mount thing

  14. *rolls eyes* Winger techs and the "she's all fixed, we cleared the codes" Not the first time I've seen it tbh. And if I was in your shoes I'd take it to someone who will actually tell you the fault, give you the fault code etc and make sure that you are okay with the codes being cleared. That kinda carry on annoys me. It could have been a sticking waste gate solenoid, normally a hit with brake cleaner will clean out the crud thats stopping it working properly, but be aware it'll happen again soon unless all the associated vacuum lines are also cleaned out. It's a couple of hours to do it thoroughly

  18. Only because I'm pedantic and it adds 5hp, as long as the applied model is the same any tag will do. Will try my luck at the Waiuku parts world

  19. Yep it got raped at Taupo 5+ years ago, had the front pads smoking, and I'm still running the same set of front discs with no warping or machining. I only just replaced the pads a year or two ago too! Yes it needs a cert, but try your luck first. I doubt you'll get pinged on it.
