  1. @killervq30de I got back from the tune last night. The guys at Rapid we’re really friendly and helpful when I dropped the car off and were happy to install the parts too. ...as @Andy_Mac had warned me about with the auto turbos, there was a lot of knock when they were trying to tune it down low, so there wasn’t huge gains there, but overall there was a nice smooth gain especially at the top end. My car had lost a few horses over the years too, it was only running about 155hp and was 200hp after the tune and installation of the downpipe/boost solenoid. I will admit though that the top end now is amazing, it holds the boost really well and thing really flies up to 230 kmph with ease. Whilst tuning they also noticed I had a slight leak on my radiator and so it limited the tune a little as they didn’t want to make it unsafe. I’ll swap it out this week and it will be fine though. If you are tuning these go for 98 if you can (I only did 95) they are tuned in Japan for 100 octane and so 95 isn’t ideal. I’ve also seen an 07 LGTB being tuned on 98 gaining 15/20 kw more than what mine did which is insane good! Overall, I’m happy with the tune/mod combination. I do think I’ll keep my Wagon until after winter/early 2019 and look at selling it and keeping an eye out for a well looked after 08-09 Impreza hatch, but I change my mind all of the time!

  2. When was it imported? If before sometime in 2010 and you’re technically allowed to not have one but most of these cars have been imported well after that so need to retain the cat. I’ve just gutted the two cats in mine. So externally looks OEM but has much better flow potential. Also made a bellmouth head for it but dunno how beneficial that really was. Have zero issue with sound or smell either. Going catless makes very little difference to noise if still using the orignal midpipe and mufflers. Not a clue on price but SAS out in Kaiapoi could sort you out without much trouble. @gotasuby is one of the guys there. Imagine there’s a few places down there that would do a good job hat other local members know of.

  3. VDC is normally cut but not ABS. VDC requires some control over the engine, like reducing throttle when wheel spin is detected, and so to prevent VDC operating incorrectly, the function is cut while the ECU detects a fault. Same goes for cruise. I'll try and remember to check if there's a procedure to test the sensor tomorrow.

  4. Hi team, im converting my previously daily driven v3 wrx sti to a dedicated autocross/sprint car. Engine is stock, i’ve just done exhaust and trying not to spend too much money on it. Problem I have on full track stuff is the speed cut at 180kmph. Anyone know a work around for this that doesn’t involve $2k for a Link ecu and tune? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. In a road car without semi slicks. You'll be fine. If you're really worried, Dump a full 5L of oil in the engine along with a new oil filter. Plus. If you don't Come, everyone will think you're chicken :-p

  7. Definitely a negative on USDM ones working. We are super limited with options for these cars. Subtech make one but it is catless. Only catted options are ones from japan such as Zerosports or HKS but cost a fortune. AVO used to do one with a changeable bellmouth/head but not sure if that’s still a thing. Couldn’t see it on their site last time I looked. I’d almost recommend getting a downpipe flange and having an exhaust shop make one up. Could end up with a better product if you go to the right place. Where in the country are you located?
