  3. Brought new plugs. They all came with a gap of 0.3 ish. Gapping them to 0.8 seems very big. Is that correct? Edit. Never mind. I cant read... they are 8mm

  4. Did my first track day ever on Saturday (Ruapuna). Heaps of fun, managed to spin it on the second lap of the first session (coming out of the hairpin). Started the day with times ~2min, and finished with consistent 1:55s and managed a 1:53.9 on my second to last lap. Definitely pointed out some weak points on the car (mainly pads/rotors) and gave me heaps of stuff to learn! Car didn't miss a beat, used hardly any oil and temp stayed at normal driving levels

  5. My wishlist of Milwaukee tools is soooo long! I've used their stuff before, and it's amazing. No offence to MCM and Ryobi - but I like how the smaller Milwaukee stuff uses their M12 batteries - not large 18V batteries. Makes getting their tools into tight places easier. And also seeing Milwaukee stuff on YT a lot, and my mechanic swearing by their tools. For hand tools - I use Toptul, pretty much exclusively. I got a topbox and chest from them when I was mechanic'ing. I'd rate them better than SnapOn myself - lifetime warranty, and good quality, without that price tag. Only had my 1/2" impact universal replaced on warranty (I didn't break it). The boys at the local Partmaster got it all sorted in under a week for me! Plan on adding a side cabinet, to house all the Milwaukee stuff I want to buy.

  6. pfr6g / bkr6eix i've used without fail in both my tuned v7's and no issues with misfire, until recently with my car. but, they were new plugs, so i knew that wasn't the issue. new coils on, misfire on boost gone. have heard coppers should be done with every oil change, so if you follow the manual, you should be doing em about every 5000-7500km. i personally cant be assed resetting my radio settings and disabling the alarm to remove the battery, ripping out my cold air intake and flipping my windscreen washer out of the way that often.

  7. question: could fuel pump pressure or blocked filters be the cause of all this? turbo arrived at mechanics, however he is going to check the fuel pump pressure, filter and air flow sensor first...

  8. Pulled out and stripped an engine on a wagon to repair the blown head gaskets. Had my suspicions up as there were MLS (Multi Layer Steel) gaskets already fitted, indicating a previous repair job from the original composite pieces. What I found stripping the engine down wasn't ideal.. First part, they've put the inlet cam caps back to front, despite the screaming markings on them.. After removing the P/S head and gasket I found the culprit. You can see on the bottom RH corner of the LH combustion chamber where the compression was leaking out of the cylinder The gasket has cracked/split, not something I've come across before! More concerning was the corrosion along the outside of the cylinder wall...
