  1. Took the RS for a few laps at Levels Raceway for the 4 & Rotor South Island Champs, I think the pictures tell me I need to do a bit of suspension work....

  2. I was thinking a little GC Impreza with a plain old EZ30 w/factory ECU would be a fun daily driver. And pretty good on gas. It doesn't need to be a rocketship drag queen.

  3. Good on ya mate. I'll get a google sheet up for those that are keen to throw their details in. Just finalising things before we get to that point. Also @ADIKT I know you were largely involved with making the last one of these happen. Do we have ClubSUBs approval and support behind this etc, anyhting the Club can do on the day to make it more of a happening thing

  6. As far as calling it a ClubSUB event, it's obviously a no brainer I can bring the banner stickers, small stickers etc. So your committee is all behind it Also, I'm in. If i've got the RA running by then, I'll tow the RA using the legacy

  7. I was not thinking about my car. I was thinking about a gc gf chassie impreza and just having an NA H6 in there. Nothing too special. Im not sure if the factory gearboxes from the 1.6-1.8na gearboxes will handle the torque of an H6 unless I could find a wrx or sti with no engine. @Joker cheers ill take a look tonight.

  9. Might be worth noting a change in user on the @PBMS account from Julius to Pat so I might also suggest the 'offer' went with him and would have expired sadly though it would be nice to maintain the realtionship! see some of you at FlatNATS this weekend / Subday!

  10. search this forum for notawhiteGTB's diy guide : tis GREAT (I'll try now too) EDIT : FOUND it does start off life into a BG5 GTB then into a Type R that then gets a widebody treatment <3

  11. I have been thinking (again lol) about an EZ30/36 swap in an Impreza/wrx body. Done some research and seem like its a case of finding an EZ30 with gearbox, modify wiring to suit the body to the engine, aftermarket ECU(?) and modify radiator location. I assume there would also be other stuff like fuel pumps I may need to upgrade too. Has anyone had experience with a swap like this and is it as easy as it sounds? I like the idea of being able to do a swap by myself with basic tools and not needing a shop to make custom mounts etc.

  13. I ripped it all out so I had a clean install way easier that way as said above to actually know what is really in there and problem solving. The cars main wiring harness for the stereo in new models with the 20pin adapter have the steering wheels controls on it so all I had to do was wire a 3.5 audio jack to the 2 wire and then the Sony headunit I had you can tell it what each button does which was mint as didn’t need an adapter like with older setups I have had. The long cables that run up to the windows are usually TV not sat. I was lucky that it didn’t have the DVD player under passenger seat like my old BH5 that had even more cables Good luck with the install

  14. I did this recently myself. The ring ones are a weird T5 bulb, that has a higher Wattage compared to a normal T5. The other ones are all just normal T5 bulbs. I forget how many - might have been 14? Will be more if it's auto gearbox too.

  15. In the kit there is supposed to be a series of spacers that moves that U brace down and allows clearance. Maybe you were given the kit for a GC/GF that wouldn’t include the spacers. You can see one of the spacers on the left of this picture, there are supposed to be 6 or 8 in total.

  17. Glad you got it fixed! It definitely shouldn't be like that normally. If you've got a WoF soon, take it down a gravel road for a bit, and get the underside a bit dirty. An inspector may have their own opinions about what you did. I don't see anything wrong with what you've done.

  21. Unfortunately I'm only gonna have to register myself as interested now; and if I do make it down, it'll be last minute. Stuff going on in the family (health) that needs all the spare time I can muster at the moment.

  22. Clint's car was super cool. You could probably just get away with an old GTB gearbox.

  23. I agree with A J. Free is a bit rough. (Even though it was communicated at some point) Although I wasn't involved at the mega met I understand how small business' market their "product". In this case it seems like they might have expected a lot of increased customer base from the affiliation. (I'd pick they wouldn't make that offer moving forward). Striking discounted group rates sounds like the best give and take approach. It can only get better as word of mouth increases for them. 2cents. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  24. Yea I get that, and possibly one day two years ago they did promise something.. and if that is something they want to honour then awesome.. and I will mention it to them.. But I also get that running a performance based business in NZ is not the easiest job.. and that most of us here can spare $80 to have a go on a dyno. It will cost y'all more than that just to fill your car with 98 on your way to the Dyno.. I'm also reaching out to other shops to get competitive pricing.. you would hope PBMS as our sponsor can do something special for us. Nah, do it in the heat of summer.. if the car holds together and makes good power it only gets better in winter.
