  1. My car has this real cool feature, where I fill up the tank, and it makes the petrol disappear almost instantly. Quite remarkable actually

  2. You also need to be mindful of how much your car is going to stand and be used. You dont want to get into the car one morning with a dead car battery as the tablet used all the juice. They draw very little current but for prolonged periods of time consider having a hard cut switch wired in (or just pull the fuse if you have one)

  3. So the RA is booked in to go to Christchurch, and pay a visit to @SAS for the engine build and @gotasuby to tune. Though, does anyone know of a good priced car transport company? Car doesn't exactly run soooo.

  7. Sounds like a recipe for flat battery's but: Constant power wire to the radio, pretty sure it's the yellow one. Along with Andy_Mac's relay wiring to switch it off when the car is on.

  8. Spoke to Tony, not as much as it cost me to put Motec in my single turbo Rs Legacy conversion in early 2000’s.I’ll get down to Tauranga sometime January to work out the details.

  10. What exactly is your aim here? Do you want it to fully charge while the car is off and then not charge when on? Before you go down this route there should be a simpler way to resolve this. I only use mine on weekends and it’ll typically use 1/2-2/3rds of the charge throughout the week sitting there. Car lives outside too so the heat plays a big factor in this. Have you flashed the timur rom and all that to it? If so what is your charging rate in power event manager? If you have to go down this alternative route then a relay off a non switched source with a switched source on the coil is your best bet if charging when car’s off and not when car’s on is your goal.

  11. Majority of 'Positive' feeds become negative when the car is off which you could use if you tap onto an 'aways' on + then the - side to a "+" when "on" feed now this is useful for Diodes that only allow current flow in one direction so a little extra elec-trickery might be need to 'keep the smoke in' but the theory is there if you catch my drift (or a Relay) so yeah basics are there BUT not tested on equipment in real life so no guarantees or warranties implied with this post

  12. Welcome to the forum! Is it a bugeye? I’ve heard of unmodified bugeye wrxs comfortably doing 300k it really depends on the previous owners. If it is warmed up, run on the correct fuel, serviced regularly and not thrashed at every traffic light the ej205 turbo is reliable. There are a few small maintainable items that Subaru’s require over time but they really don’t ‘break down’ often in stock form. (Rocker cover gaskets, timing belts etc) If there are signs it has been previously modified poorly, (ie. boost tap, podfilter) then I would steer clear. If like you said the previous owners had it for 4 and 5 years and they have service history then I would say it is a fairly safe buy. Always worth getting it checked over by a Subaru specialist mechanic before buying if you don’t know what to look for yourself. Good luck!

  13. Does yours have the centre light in it? Have seen them with and without. Best bet is probably going to be an eBay ripoff badge unless you can get hold of someone’s VIN number and use that to search partsouq or similar sites. There’s an AUDM tbSTI with one.

  14. As everyone goes on holiday or really the stores close down, don't forget spare batteries for you keyless entry remotes. i had this last year and with twin hella horns anywhere near concrete walls it's pretty funny. Well it was for me, everyone nearby outside the car was unimpressed. Especially as I walked way to get a new battery. today I went to push the door open button and what do you know had to take the remote out of my pocket to get a good signal. But I keep a few spares now, and I recommend anyone who can't remember the last time they changed the battery to grab a couple. CR 1632 3v was for my Impreza cost $3 each anyway merry Xmas and happy new year all.

  15. @Niran Too much turbine speed is my guess. We were running about 30psi and had full boost @ 3800rpm in 4th gear. Must've spun up too fast and let go.
