  1. Last night at like 12 I was driving on the motorway, went to change gear and it didnt go in. At first I thought i just missed it but i kept trying and it wouldnt go into gear, so I tried other gears and it wouldnt go into any gear at all. It was like it was locked in neutral. I wouldnt even slide over to the 1st and 2nd gear side. It was like the lockout thing that reverse has so you cant put it in reverse instead of 4th. So i pulled over on the side of the motorway wating for my mate to tow me. Cops pulled up and made me push the car onto the grass over the curb and it scraped so bad Eventually got towed off motorway and then the tow rope snapped about 50 meters from a gas station, so my mates pushed me there and on the way it went back into 3rd and started working again. Drove it home in 3rd as I had waited for like an hour on the side of the motorway and didnt want to get stuck again. But now it works in every gear, changes smooth as. Does anyone know how this works? I dont know much about gearboxs and Ive only heard of single gears blowing
  2. Are these any good? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/turbos/auction-430182862.htm
  3. Omg gun metal grey v5 coupe. It doesnt get any better
  4. Thanks man, thats exactly what I wanted. If anyone has anymore info like that it would be great
  5. Hi my mate is looking at getting a v7 wrx (not a sti) He was asking me some questions about them and I realised I only really know about the sti. I think they run 250bhp and have tdo4s? What injectors do they run? Do they have 6 speed and AVCS? any info on motor, suspension, brakes etc would be nice
  6. Looks so good. What kind of power are you aiming for?
  7. I would love to have that wrx to drive around in when cars in the shop, or in pieces at home getting work done. Or when your low on gas. Would much rather drive the wrx than a prius uknow? Imagine getting pigged in it. "You dam boy racers!" "Officer its a goddam electric car!"
  8. Non imprezza sti.... Its the beggining of the end of the GT-R. nurburgring here suby comes
  9. Sorry its not a suby but my thought id try here anyway. My mate just brought a evo 5 with a evo 8 engine in it, it drives perfectly under throttle (all the way to 9,000 rpm ) But when cruising it looses power. It feels like your hitting a air pocket like when your nearly out of gas. Once again I know its not a subaru but if anyone knows that it could be then help would be appreciated
  10. Wires yes. Ye thats what I meant sorry. Wide band sensor and a nicer looking gauge
  11. Ye I wanna buy a new one, its so useless
  12. Mechanic reckons its running rich at idle and WOT now so I think the fuel pump worked. Old one could have been dieing. MAF and o2 sensor and fuel pressures sweet. Now time to get it back on the dyno, check how much power its putting out as is, and what the afr is on the dyno now
  13. Ye it is mate, came with a mbc in. Havnt raised the boost with it. just wound it right down to wastegate pressure after the dyno day The only thing i think thats different from when you had it is that it has a VF30 now. Pretty much stopped driving it atm as after I read about it on Qrafs previous posts I realised its not worth risking damaging it. It's going into the mechanics this week for some tests, fuel pressure, afm, o2 sensor, basically the things people have told me can make it lean Just put a walbro in, next is fuel pressure regulator and maybe injectors, want to get it running richer asap. Then the plan is to pick up alot of extra work over the summer and get a link + tune. Really don't care what it costs me, still so stoked to have it
  14. Yea I have. But if it has nothing to do with the fuel system im going to need a fuel pump anyway for later
  15. Ye gonna do everything i can think of before dyno. But walbro is good regardless
  16. Walbro is in and cars running sweet. Still gotta check the AFR though.
  17. Omg that's exactly the feeling I had! Never even need 5th but would be great to get speed-cut removed to see what it does. Still has your cert plate, my 2 best mates have evos so it is nice to show them haha I had a look at your trademe auction thing on qraf's old posts and still has everything there (including the steering wheel) apart from now it has a VF30 not VF23. Previous owner said it was forged but no receipts so I just assumed they were all talk, then I asked if it was fast and they said you probably wont think it is! I was amazed at it on 12psi I dont think they knew what they had
  18. Thats the plan in the long term. But tight on money right now so if i can get a cheap fix then i will till i can get link
  19. Yea i am now. I just didn't crank the boost up before as Ive seen the consequences of mbc's in mates cars.
  20. Yes has a manual boost controller. Was running 13psi when i dynod it. I don't trust mbcs so i left it at 13. Will have a better look at ecu in the morning
  21. So after sorting out all the problems with my gf8 wrx wagon, i moved onto a sti. More problems haha Felt super quick, faster than my mates evo 4. So i wanted to get it dyno'd to have some bragging rights. They only got up to 130kw on the dyno before shutting it down, and told me the car was running super lean and they didn't want to rape it as they where too scared it would blow something. The AFR was between 14 and 15 the whole run and they told me that it should be 11-12. I'm planning on buying a walbro fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator and then check the AFR after that. If that dosn't work I'm going to look engine management as my ecu looks like a standard version 3 ecu. Am I on the right track? And is there anything else that can cause running lean that I should look into?
