  4. haha ok i was just kidding it test drove it at 50ks, then went the speed limit the whole 6 hour drive back home and didnt go over 3500rpm. I wish it came with the evoetr plates... two of my best mates have evos... Got it for a bargain tho
  5. Yes still has lumpy cams. Very fun drive back got all the way home on one tank. No tickets because we drove all night. But got to 175km in 4th gear haha. Very nice upgrade from my stock wrx

  7. hi my shocks need replacing on my wrx wagon, can anyone tell me what shocks will fit on my car? Im looking to buy some secondhand ones so need to know what versions of wrx suspensions will go on mine

  9. Hi I am having trouble putting a pod filter in my wrx, very annoying in the version 1 and 2s. Mine is stock like this one But these 2 on trademe have aftermarket pipes instead of the second box thing coming off the turbo (sorry dont know name haha) Anyone know where to get these or how to get rid of the box? the smaller one not the airbox
  10. 10 psi standard? was on five when i got it lol Hopefully doing turbo soon. had a go at it before but couldnt get bolts off wher it connects to exhaust Gna put standard bov in and inspect all hoses thouroughly for leaks
  11. Changed coils and its still s***. $330 down the drain haha. Anyone got any ideas? Slow as with foot flat. Makes a air sucking in noise (didnt used too, and i dont hav a poddy) and if i keep my foot down wen its slow it makes a spluttering noise which sounds like its coming from the exhaust. Have now changed spark plugs, coils and solinoid valve. What should I do next? Or is it time to try get some money together for a hefty mechanics bill?
  12. Just an update. Have paid for new set of 4 coils as its been so long since the cars been right ive decided with exams over im gna throw some money at it. Thanks for all the help so far guys. Will let you know wen coils are in, should be over the weekend at latest. Pretty sure thats the problem as it dosnt idle strange so probly isnt manifold leak? and im sure that the solinoid valve is in ryt and it really feels like a misfire. Fingers crossed. Also thanks again for all the help
  13. Been busy with uni mate. Havnt done anything but what you said really. Changed plugs, coils looked sweet but probly arnt haha

Because they dont want to hear that it will cost money to fix what they want is "oh yeah u replace this $1 hose and u will be sweet" not that u need to take it to a Workshop and have some one with more knowledge fault find and fix it for you as this may cost a few hundred I get it all the time and i work for our own company I took it to a workshop to try find out the exact problem. Wanted to charge me hundreds for the solinoid valve and to "replace my blower valve"
  15. Back to running like crap... didnt take it for a long enough test drive Need to check coils. Feels like misfiring or sumthing.
  16. Changed the spark plugs. Need to do some testing to see how it runs on boost but at 8psi its running well untill 4000rpm and then it lags untill 5000rpm. Feels like it hits a power band at 5000 and starts flying
  17. My hoses are fine. They are the same as the diagram for my year and exactly the smae as when the car was running fine. I will do another reset today but this week ima check out coils and plugs
  18. I have read that before but its not applicable to my year. for example I have 3 hoses coming from my solinoid valve. So you 2 reckon its not plugs or coils?

  22. idles fine. Does stall very occasionally when im going real fast and then stop but hardly does it anymore due to proper fitting of the bov. OK well i guess ill return to normal boost 4 now and change the plugs and coil On the end of the arm the part that connects to the turbo gate flap thing is ajustable. Its screws on and off
  23. Jst wound actuator to tightest possible setting and ran it with turbo and actuator lines disconnected Made 10-12psi but ran like crap. Only way so far it worked really well was after resetting ecu and arm closing the flap but not too tight. made 5 psi. Ye i dont know what the problem is and dont have that much mechanical knowledge so I took it to subaru winger and they said wastegate solinoid valve. By replacing that and setting the actuator to default (i think) setting it ran like it did when I got it. But i have been told it should be higher than 5 pound. My mate tried to put a boost tap in it to see if we could change it when it had the old solinoid valve and it didnt change a thing. So i read about being able to raise the boost with the arms and i thought id try to get 7 psi. But when its running over 5 it runs like crap. I have a spare gate and a spare tdo4l turbo so if its the actuator or the turbo i could change them. But could it be spark plugs or fuel pump or something like that? i suspected that before i took it to mechanics. ie ran properly without boost but with the increased air and not enough fuel it was running like crap. I have no real basis for this, it just seems kinda logical Can anyone give me a solid idea of what to do next? I dont wanna spend lots of money but I love my wrx so gta do something haha

When the flap is shut you can tightern it alot more. the tighter the arm the more boost it has (in theory, or so ive read) it shows the higher boost on the gauge but it runs like ass and i can hear a sound like sucking in air really fast. I knew it should hold it closed it get the basics of wastegates. I just had it open to drive it propery when it was screwed Does anyone know how tight the arm should be? Should i try tigherning it fully and running it with no hose?
