to be honest you need to track back when anything was changed. from my experience i found that my car had a rough idle when i had a hks blow valve fitted the same as you a while back, but some appear to be all good? im my case the cause of my issue was a loose hose clamp and that solved all my problems. mine would miss completely especially in 3rd if i put my foot down. once warmed up on idle it sounded like it had a high lift cam and had a noticeable lope at idle. to me it still sounds like your having a similar issue and i reckon just having a quick once over of the hose clamps on the intake and intercooler etc. Good Luck

my car is having the exact same issue. i suspect the issue is related to spark plugs. The issue ive found isnt repeatable it just occurs sometimes, for me it lopes at idle which it never used to, and from light throttle to open throttle it misses badly...sometimes, under full acceleration its sweet, this is my scenario. im gonna pull my plugs tomorrow so ill post back what i find .
  3. Once again it looks like you need a beer haha. i seem to find whenever you post on here your always right . after some further investigation and some lubricating of every bushing i could find i found a snapped exhaust mount. the one that attaches to the bottom of the transmission to be precise. Thank you for your advice
  4. just a weee update. the rubbing noise was the stone gaurd rubbing the rotor, i gave it a little bend and now no rubbing. however the squeak has got worse. managed to catch the squeak when the car was idling in my driveway so i grabbed a video of it. the squeak is a little hard to hear over my exhaust but is noticable. this very well may be in the wrong section now as i suspect it might be the trans mount? noise is most noticeable at the end of the vid.
  5. Hi there everyone, hopefully someone could can shed some light on my situation, obviously diagnosis will be difficult without seeing the car in person, but ill try and get a video where you can hear the noise that is driving me nuts. The Situation: Over the past two days my V6 STi has develop some bad noises from the back of the car. First of which is a squeaking/ creeking noise, first off i figured it was no big deal as i thought it was probably just sway bar bushes. it appears to turn out the its most probably coupled with what every is causing the second noise, this being a rubbing noise coming from the back of the car(possibly rear hub?). this rubbing noise is the best way i can think to describe it, or a light grind. this noise is most noticeable on deccel at low speed (<30kph). the noise has a rotational frequency too it as something rotating is rubbing. My car also has the rather common knocking shock issue weather that has a bearing on anything. My suspicion is that it could either be my wheel bearing or potentially a blown center or rear diff? Any Input would be awesome. ive already lubricated the sway bar and it had no effect
  6. thats for a sedan. im not to sure on the legal side of all this but when i took mine for a warrent of fitness yesterday i was required to remove all the tints off all the windows? as far as im aware the quote that i was given was for all glass excluding the windscreen and for 35%'s all round. I guess if you believe that is fair ill just have to fork out that much
  7. tint-a-car gave me a quote as folows: Thank you for the enquiry to tint your Subaru, it will cost you $350.00 + GST to tint in 35% Viva and $400.00 + GST in Midnight Express ( our most popular film). All Tintacar films are high grade commercial quality, they wont peel, bubble, delaminate,or go purple, and come with a written Nation wide warrantee. in my opinion isnt that a little steep? as there is a place on here...? Car Folie that does a subbie for like $99?
  8. hey does anyone know anywhere in CHCH that does window tinting and doesnt cost and arm or a leg :-[?
  9. i am also after someone that could replace the bearings in a vf22? can anyone pm me some details of a good place. much appreciated.
  10. how much would i be looking at for a rebuild on my vf28? to be honest i was under the impression that vf series turbos could not be rebuilt. i am rather happy with how my turbo behaves and the power it produces. just a ball park figure would be awesome.
  11. if i was to consider replacing my turbo with a vf29 i would just get mine fixed i think. theres no benefit to moving to a vf29. a vf28 and vf 29 both flow 425cfm of air at 18psi. the vf22 flows 490cfm a significant improvement. im just frustrated as to the fact i was under the impression that these IHI turbos were apparently strong.
  12. i think im going to make the assumption that my turbo oil seal is gone. anyone know of a vf22 they wanna part with. i have a apexi power fc thats going to get tuned next month so a vf22 will probably be a good addition. or could anyone give me any idea about the cost of trying to fix my vf28? is it possible to replace the oil seals on my vf28 or rebuild it? as far as i was aware you cannot rebuild BB turbos?
  13. the images i promised....
  14. hi there guys, just had everything apart. and ive taken some photos that will hopefully speak better than i can. its appearing that it looks to be the turbo. as for the questions from WRXONP, There was some oil in the pipe and intercooler enough to question if it was too much but not what i would call excessive. Unfortunately my exhaust is in one piece and i wasn't game enough to attempt removing the whole exhaust tonight. My car is definitely smoking on idle which im assuming rules out rings. i then once got it back together, ran it round the block twice. it smoked when i just very lightly accelerated to about 50. or atleast there was small white clouds visible in the rear view. when i accelerated heavily on boost the smoke cleared then didnt appear to become visible again after i boosted it.
  15. i can confirm that it is not condensation as this smoke is much thicker than condensation and smells of oil. i am going to remove the intercooler now and see if there is any oil in the intake tract. And ill do a compression test also and ill post the results up when im done.
