  5. When mapped correctly it can be used for throttle mapping and 3 different boost levels. It works very well when mapped correctly! Regards Dynotech Industries
  6. We personal have used the Launch Dia gun and Launch X431 GDS, i didnt like the product/software or back up service, so we went with the Hanatech ultrascan (but cost $12000 +GST) Hanatech do a cheap unit to the everyday consumer and their service is provide through Petroject NZ who have been very helpfull with any questions we have had Phil Dynotech Industries

  10. Today at 11:45am at the Hawera District Court, Brendan Pollock of Flat Four Specialist (F.F.Sltd) was found in breach of a contractual agreement (sale of goods) he entered into with myself. Brendan Pollock of Flat Four Specialist (F.F.Sltd) was also found in breach of the consumers guarantee act buy not delivering the goods purchased within a reasonable time frame. Brendan Pollock of Flat Four Specialist (F.F.Sltd) has been ordered to pay to me full cost Please guys be careful when dealing with Brendan Pollock of Flat Four Specialist (F.F.Sltd), many of you emailed me saying you were in the same situation. I suggest you file Court proceedings against him to! Regards Phil Harris
  11. Power fc is the way to go mate, I have tuned hundreds of them on the Pre 2001 WRX/STi. They are a great option and value for money for this model. PM me if you want a price for a full Dyno tune on our Dynapack, we are in Hawera which is about a 2.5hr drive from you. I have a big client base from Wellington/Kapiti region if you want to ask them about me Regards Phil Dynotech Industries
  12. No your std MAF will do just fine 8)
  13. As with all our Subaru mapping we run the car as it arrives to us. We then reset Ecu and get iam to 16 or 1 and carry out our base line reading. No timing was pulled and iam was at 16 The Dynapack is super sensitive and can pick up a dip in power even if we switch the headlights on! The boost peaked at 16.3psi via a MBC You see everything with the dynapack, nothing is masked or hiding like it is with inaccurate road dyno software, variable roads, conditions, airflow etc I posted only to show OP that good gains are to be had with a PFC More than happy to discuss mapping techniques via pm with you or others Regards Dynotech industries
  14. 18 psi pretune on stock Ecu
  15. In all honesty, I\'m not sure what it was Car was owned by elderly gentleman and in near stock form. Looking back at our notes It was a 1999 wrx ra vltd Phil
  16. Just fuel pump, catback exhaust and panel filter Regards Phil Dynotech industries
  17. Here is 1 we tuned a few months back with a PFC (V5 non sti) We actually decreased the boost to 16 psi and made a huge improvement to power and torque!
  18. Just to clear a few issues up - Car does have IAT sensor, which is built into MAF the sensor - Customer choose to run 23 psi boost - That run was done in 4th gear, so ratio is correct at 5.501 - SAE is the preferred correction method by Dynapack where air temps are under 40C (during the run temp started at 22C and raised to 24C at end) - Car was tuned and run up in 5th gear at 4.111 ratio (customer has printout etc for thoose runs) - Just because a car made "X" amount of power with "X" amount of mods (or ecu) doesnt mean it will make more torque or power than car "Y" - A Dyno is a tuning tool and the number that people should be looking at is the overall gain (ie before and after) - Most dynos will read different (apart from Dynapack which has less variables) due to varying conditions, temp, strap down method, tyre pressure and type etc Regards Dynotech Industries
  19. Totally different pipe We have done 3 different options on several 2l JDM GRB STI cars 1. Cut off the turbo flange of the Xforce exhaust (or any GRF 2.5l Sti aftermarket down pipe) and weld on a laser cut JDM V11 flange (in stock) 2. Use the stock down pipe, remove the cat by cutting it out and replacing pipe (factory JDM downpipe is bellmouthed) 3. Replace the complete down pipe with a JDM aftermarket down pipe, $800-1200 NZD by time you get a decent one, GST, import duty etc Regards Phil Dynotech Industries
  20. The factory down pipe is bell mouthed on the EJ20 V11, why not just remove the cat?
  21. 95 octane and customer wanted low boost Pink run was on 18 psi factory boost, as you can see it induces knock at around 5000rpm due to fuel quality Solution Turn boost down and remap Gained 20kw and far better fuel economy!!
  22. Hi there We have tuned the exact same car with the exact same mods Apexi paper filter Xforce turbo back exhaust 95 octane 14 psi boost They are shocking in std form and are prone to knocking and piston ringland failure! Phil Dynotech Industries [email protected] http://www.dynotechindustries.co.nz/news/2008-wrx-sti-25l-turbo/48366
  23. Those prices seem fair for genuine gaskets, dont re use the old ones or silicone them up!!! Always use new gaskets, a few bucks spent here will save you big $$$$$ down the track. Also I would imagine the exhaust shop probably would refuse to do the job with out new gaskets. Also $300 to do the job seems fair (4 hrs at $75 p/hr) is bang on the money and time frame. They have probably allowed this time frame incase they run into any unforeseen problems liked seized/broken studs etc
  24. Up pipe Down pipe 3" Wrapped Full Exhaust Panel filter Walbro fuel pump Ecu flashed with custom tune, AVCS tuned, AFR,boost and timing, knock control etc good for 220 - 235kw, Ive done plenty with great results and very reliable. Phil
