  1. One of these. http://www.eaudio.co.nz/ca475plus.htm http://www.eaudio.co.nz/CA475PLUS%20test%20report.pdf $150? in pretty good condition. OPtherwise I have a response 4x100wrms amp in pretty bad cosmetic condition but was working fine the last time I used it. Was mounted under a seat so a bit scratched up. $100?
  2. Decent amped fronts + sound deadening + sub should be all you need. If the amp can run 2ohm then the power it draws should be roughly halfway between the 2 and 4ohm power ratings should it? so 100w@4ohm and 150w@2ohm so 130ish at 3ohm? so as long as you dont bridge a 4 channel amp into 2 channels, most 2/4 channel amps should cope with it fine? You should buy my caliber 4 channel amp tbh.
  3. Uhm, more power/headroom is better than not enough power... If you set your gains correctly having excess power will never be an issue.
  4. Sweet, its not high on my priorities, but some angry 6 cyl snarl would be nice when I put my foot in it when that rarely happens. But highway cruise silence is more of a priority. headers/cat delete/tune could be a future option then.
  5. Is there anyway to make an auto 3L sound cool when putting the boot in, but doesnt have the auto drone when cruising D:
  6. Takapuna Mufflers seemed to do a good job on mine for my BL5. Was around 500$
  7. FInally got a picture of my packhorse/mx5 support car
  8. Loaded it up with all the wheels and tools for mx5. Off to taupo tomorrow for trackday on friday. Hopefully I can sneak in a session in the legacy at the end of the day.
  9. Yeah i do a fair amount on assetto corsa, has the best or most realistic physics of the games out. Pcars is fun for actual AI racing and looks pretty, but the physics are a bit naff.
  10. Got a towbar fitted for when i break the track car.
  11. Yeah don't list someone else as the main driver if its not the case as you will get reamed if you ever have to claim. Insurance is one of those things its not worth lying about to save some cash as itll cost you later on.
  12. I did a 1:48.9 at taupo track 1 back in april, first time on semis in the dry. Not too shabby a time for a basically stock sti I think. Pity its now sold and my MX5 will take a while to beat that.
  13. Gave the legacy some love since its been a bit neglected and relegated to being left in the driveway for the past few weeks while I drive the mx5 everywhere. New wiper blades and gave it a clean, will give it a bit of a detail tomorrow since it has quite a few tar spots on it.
  14. Nice work. Should do a step by step guide on what products were used during the process at each step
  15. ca475+ http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-stereos/amplifiers/4-channel/auction-902875770.htm
  16. Someone should buy my caliber amp 4x75w and decent brand..
  17. Cleaned engine bay of legacy. Cleaned interior of mx5 and removed stereo
  18. How to reset trip/fuel meter in bl legacy jap spec touch screen. I have tried spamming buttons with no luck. Maybe its time to learn japanese..
  19. Rejoined team Subaru after purchasing a 3.0r legacy sedan.
  20. Will do eventually. In Subaru related news, hopefully going to pickup up a 3.0r wagon this weekend for practical weekend/tow car. Found a couple I like, hopefully they dont sell by then. Will be weird going to an automatic car again, havent owned one in forever. And a quiet car...
  21. Yeah i went for a ride in it once and he opened it up on an onramp past some sacked out ceffie, the look on their faces was pretty gold. It basically the same as having a convertible old school torana or something. Just in a slightly less masculine shell In saying all that, the build wasnt exact;ly cheap haha. Theres also not much MX5 left mechanically...
  22. Yeah his LS1 wasnt much heavier with t56 than the stock iron block 1.6. And most of the weight is negated when you are stripping it out/putting in lighter seats etc so the original balance/weight distribution is mostly kept the same. It sounds lke a fantastic idea, im not sure why you would think otherwise D: Its also going to be reliable as hell. You can also put your foot down in 6th at 100kph on the motorway and it starts pulling like a freight train lol.
  23. New intake by Donovan Brook, on Flickr This is his one.
