  2. I've been forced to run Mobil 97.5 when BP ran out of 98 and you do feel the difference. In saying that it was 20 litres mixed with 20 litres of BP 98. Didn't get any knock but my efficiency and performance wasn't quite as good.
  3. Sweet as mate, all good. Keen to know what you ending making once its retuned bud.
  4. Sweet as, that's fair enough then. Did they give you a tune showing both before and after by any chance? I'd be pretty keen to see what it was doing on its initial dyno run.
  5. I wouldn't say you didn't receive a quality tune in all fairness. If he said your car was knocking then it was fair to not increase the boost, as with AFR (perhaps try BP 98 or Gull 98 as they don't tend to knock so much. BP preferably). Your boost is a bit slower than it should be. It should be hitting 18 by 3,000 RPM at least. Is the restrictor pill still fitted? The thing is your tune isn't terrible. You've got a smooth torque curve and stable boost. Also your boost is holding and tapering off where it should. With that said I don't think its fair to blame the tuner for your cars performance. You need to remember a brand new Version 8 made 220kW at the flywheel, your getting 215kW at the wheels. And also mine made 233kW because I spend a lot on it. All my parts where sourced from overseas and are the best you can get. If you take it elsewhere I'm thinking you might get another 5-10kW (assuming its done on the same dyno) from cranking the boost.
  6. One thing I do want to add is I do feel it is unjust to badmouth Torque Performance. Looking at your chart you've got steady torque curves, steady boost and steady AFR. Yeah the AFR is a quite a bit rich but if your car was knocking then its a fair call. Personally I would have gone in with BP Ultimate 98 or even Gull 98 as it has a lower tendency to knock from what I've seen. The thing is you're still making 215kW ATW where brand new from factory they make 220kW at the flywheel. Also when going to get a tune you can't just assume what power figures you're going to make because every engine is different and has been subject to different environments/operating hours. Before you got your car it could have been absolutely raped and not warmed up or cooled whereas mine could have just been driven with care.
  7. No idea. Looking at your chart I would have put AFR 11.0-11.5 at richest and put boost up to 22 PSI max (after 22 PSI VF37s aren't efficient as the heat generated ruins the cold air). In saying that I don't know how hot your EGT was, how well your turbo performs, or how your Boost Solenoid was doing.
  8. Not sure who tuned my car, some dude that used to be an aircraft technician so I trust his judgement as I too am one. And yip, VF37.
  9. So I had a damn good tune from Torque Performance making 233.1kW ATW and also have a 2003 WRX STi. Boost tuned to 22PSI peaking at 3,5000 RPM and tapering down to 18 from 6,000 RPM. From 4,000 RPM AFR is tuned to 11.0 to keep EGT down and prevent knock. At 3,000 RPM AFR is 12.5. Engine modifications are; -3" Turbo Back (Catless) -K&N Typhoon Kit (Intake) -Grimspeed 3 Port Boost Solenoid -GFB Mach 2 -Grimspeed Air Oil Seperator My question is have you had a decent look at the car before taking it in? For example looking for boost leaks, blow by, remove the restrictor pill? Also given your boost response I'd think there may be an issue with your turbo. Given that I had such a good tune from them I'd only assume you may have an issue with your car.
  10. 22PSI mate. I'll edit my post and add a pic too.
  11. So just had my car tuned at Torque Performance. My 2003 WRX STi is currently at 233kW at the wheels. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=785151631582082&l=c0ff12d9d3 Run on BP 98. Current modifications are; Hayward and Scott 3" Catless Downpipe, Tomei 3" Expreme Ti Cat Back, Grimmspeed EBCS, GFB Mach 2 and a K&N Typhoon Kit.
