  1. https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/brake-caliper-adapter-brackets/kar-kb-016-kartboy-big-brake-adapters-fhi-2-pot-rear These? Did you have to chop the dust shield too?
  2. Did you have to change the hub or did the 2 pots bolt right up?
  3. Must be @Batbaruman's brother
  4. To have the photo displayed you have to paste a direct link to the image file. "http://i.imgur.com/bx4L1D9.jpg" Shows up as You will still have to upload to an image host like imgur as they are not hosted here.
  5. Sweet video, my favourite part was the backwards bus at 0:22s.
  6. At the end of the day even if it has a new turbo and fresh cambelt, it is still an auto forester with 280,000 ks.... ~$100-400 for the turbo depending which turbo and condition. ~$500-600 for cambelt kit or ~$1000-1100 for a workshop to do it.
  7. Someone told you to join clubsub from one of the facebook groups right? Welcome to the club. 23.4 psi does seem pretty high, however I don't claim to be an expert on this what so ever. If your tuner says that it isn't struggling, afr is fine and intake temps are still reasonable then probably not too much to worry about. Perhaps have a think/talk with your tuner about what you really want from the car. Whether you want to back it down a bit for an under stressed reliable package or whether you want it to be as fast as it can be, like it seems the tuner has set it up.
  8. I moved from a 205 to a 225 wide tyre, grip improvement was great. Only side effect was the increased tendency to grab ruts in the road.
  9. Not sure on this one. Usually the vehicle has the appropriate wheel/tyre sizes and pressures on a sticker in the drivers door jam. I.e the sizes the speedometer is calibrated for.
  10. Yes, a 50 profile tyre will have a sidewall that is 50% the width of the tyre. If you plug your before and after tyre sizes into the website I linked you will be able to see the exact changes it will cause. Remember if you change to a smaller circumference tyre you will notice slightly improved acceleration but slightly worse fuel economy at 100km/h (by gps not your speedometer). A change in circumference of more than 5% technically requires a cert.
  11. If you change the sidewall profile of the tyre you will be changing the circumference, this affects the gearing of the car and the accuracy of the speedometer. This is what the middle number in a tyre size represents. http://www.willtheyfit.com/
  12. Can't say I've ever noticed it, though I'm pretty diligent about warming up my car for a few minutes before I drive it. I've driven it cold before and never had an issue. My clutch is a little shuddery for the first 2-3 engagements but the engine is smooth as always.
  13. It is definitely easier with a trolley jack and jack stands. Could you just use some blocks of wood for ramps? That is what I used to do for oil changes before I bought my first jack.
  14. He probably can't see it, there is a minimum post requirement I believe.
  15. I joined. Should you start a different one with correct spelling? Much easier to do now than after people join...
  16. Unfortunately with the above link the shipping is per item, if you add 3 items, 3x shipping price.
  17. Nope, I removed my strutbrace though. Made it a little easier while I was trying to test fit the new 90 hose when cutting it to length.
  18. Yeah I had to do the exact same thing to get my top mount to fit. Glad you got it sorted though!
  19. By the way...I couldn't help but notice that your intercooler is off in that pic. Did you manage to sort out a legit STI one?
  20. Too long is better than too short though! I might ask them to give me an email when they get black ones back in stock.
  21. There is a short block out of a 2004 wrx on trademe for $850 at the moment. Car had done 130,000kms, being sold by a wreckers. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-1248603819.htm TBH I have no idea if it is directly compatible, but might be cheaper option to consider.
  22. Decent sirens actually have there own stand alone battery in the unit so will keep screaming even if you cut the wires, however a decent thief could just send the correct signal to the siren manually so it never goes off in the first place. I've seen a decent auto electrician rip out a car alarm in 15mins, and that included cleaning up and soldering all the wires back together cleanly. For someone who knows what they are doing it isn't that hard to get around unfortunately. It really depends on how well the original installer put it in.
