  1. put some fine netting to cover up the filter....unless you want the fry to be sucked into the filter that is... get them nice and fat...and feed them to other fish
  2. bought a 25kg bag of silica sand from hollywood fish farm silica has been treated so doesnt affect ph levels and really didnt need cleaning/rinsing before use either
  3. switched from gravel to sand substrate on Sunday.... SOOOOO much better... takes a bit more time when cleaning/vacuuming but on the other hand...easier to clean
  4. u will need... manual drive shaft manual rear diff there will be ecu wiring (to be specific ... wiring the rear reverse lights to go on when in reverse) you may need a manual ecu as well (altho i had a manual ecu running in an auto prior to manual conversion...but believe theres a diff when runnin in manual?? not sure)
  5. im assuming its an empty tank?
  6. Pleco, Blue Gourami, Dwarf Gourami, Larger Tetras, Bala Shark are all good tank mates for angels... basically as long as it dont fit in its mouth..you should be ok..... just a matter of whom is more dominant in the tank.....
  7. because angels are such slow moving fish...most of the time.... as long as u hv fast moving eg neons that constantly on the move...its ok..ish... friend had guppies and angels..... guppies go bye bye all the time
  8. True that my old ladys got an angel that attacks & eats her other fish even the red tail shark (actual name i dont know) gets bits of it bitten from it & it is some kind of fighting fish too. they also fight for territory if the tank is not big enough the name for the shark is.....red tail black shark.....
  9. you will have lotsa probs with them fighting.....angels will wanna fight for dominance against the siemese
  10. if it holds me...it can take the tank hahahah
  11. u mean bedroom/aquarium floor?
  12. http://www.oscarfishlover.com/sand-substrate if u plan on removing everything (eg fish) to do the change then its straight forward no special things needed...jsut make sure filter is off when u do it
  13. believe there is no different from having sand to havin gravel as long as the filter is switched off when initial setting up (if it has propellers) and that you should move the sand whenever waterchanging / vacuuming.... wot fish have u got?
  14. currently researching into the gravel to sand conversion.... believe theres nothign different.... cant use under gravel filter...thats all i know at this stage u looking to do a sand setup?
