  1. That's a pretty sweet deal man! Hope you get plenty of business
  2. Well funny enough they called me back at lunch and said they can do $3000. I'm ok with that i guess. All my insurance is with them, and they were the cheapest at the time. Obviously with mods a different story now. @Batbaruman
  3. Maaaaaaan called insurance today (Lumely) and declared mods Insured at market value $24k (with mods) Premiums went up from $75 to $80 (mint) Theft excess went from $2000 to 25% of value - $6000 (what the crap!?) Normal excess went from $300 to $550 (not a deal breaker but still not ideal) No drivers under 25 and must name new drivers now. For the 2003 WRX STI I stated these mods: Aftermarket wheels $2000 Aftermarket suspension $1500 Exhaust system $1000 Whiteline sway bar $300 Whiteline end links $350 Heavy duty clutch $1000 Fuel pump $200 Front lip $300 Performance tune $1200 All in all not too bad except for the theft insurance!
  4. Sounds mint! @shadywrx Whats size wheels and tyres you running?
  5. Wow, i thought you just wouldn't be covered for the mods that you've installed. Well that's what i understood anyway. At the time it was only coilovers and exhaust. Probably worth a phone call to insurance now! i Pay like $750 a year and $300 excess. Only downside is they pay on the current value of car, not insured value
  6. @shadywrx car looks amazing dude! And nice numbers! Curious as to know how much you pay for insurance after stating all your mods? I haven't stated mine, in fear of a massive hike in costs

  9. For about $1400 - $1500 you can get LDS to do you a full front mount and intake custom setup with a Moshimoto intercooler. I wanted to get it done so bad, but ran out of cash lol. If you go with off the shelf, you are looking at $595 for a redline kit (http://www.redlineperformance.co.nz/products/intercoolers/front-mount-intercooler-kits/subaru/subaru-wrx-and-sti-gdb-intercooler-kit/) and you still need to get it installed which could be a PITA If you have the money, I'd go LDS @Batbaruman
  10. Thanks @Joker! Yeah i would love to drive my car around Hampton. Got to drive a Murcielago there last year as a present from the wifey and it was amazing (even though they dont let you get to its full speed potential). Have the standard oil temp, oil pressure and boost gauges in my car so should be sweet. Pretty keen to go to the 6th Feb track day in Puke. Anyone else keen? @D1Style @Batbaruman @4G63B8 @A_J_T @1randomkiwi @boyracer693
  11. Oh dear. So stay away from Hampton Downs then?
  12. Do we have any hook ups for track days in Auckland? Hampton Downs or Puke? Pretty gutted i cant make the CS birthday thing at Taupo. As it goes, i have a wedding down in Wellinton that weekend! Would be keen as to suss some Auckland track days if anyone is keen. Hapton Downs is like $150 per day plus a yearly fee of $50 + Acc fee of $25. Pretty dam expensive!
  13. @Rosssub keen to find out how these allignment specs are working for you? Happy with it? I need to get one done very soon and am thinking of trying some of these settings. Have a 19mm sway bar in the front and 22 in the back though. Other than that, BC golds and whitline endlinks.
  14. Bumping this thread up, hopefully thats ok. I need a full set of replacement GDB STI brake rotors unfortunately. If reasonable, would like to go slotted rotors, but never new how expensive replacing rotors are! Any one here have an hook-ups? Already out of pocket with clutch replacement
  15. Oh and just a word of advice from someone that has been down this route before. Its not really about the company that you go to and their reviews (they do provide value don't get me wrong), its more about the person doing the tuning of your vehicle, and their experience and knowledge. So wherever you choose, find out who that will be, find out more about them and what they've done first. Once you know who is going to do your tune, you'll have a lot more confidence about what you are going to get. Chris who used to work for D-tech did my tune, and he was an absolute wiz at it and had plenty of experience. He now has his own business, Prestige tuning I think (in Wellington). I vote PBMS or Dtech, have a chat to both and make a decision
  16. @PBMS Any chance you guys will start posting up before and after dyno tune graphs? Would love to see how you guys get on Oh and can definitely vouch for PBMS customer service. Have spoken to Julius quite a few times and he was very helpful!
  17. Correct me if im wrong, but you can go for larger diameter wheels (example 19 inch) if you match the correct height tyre to go with it? Like maybe a 225/35/19 on a 19x8 wheel, with only a small percentage of speedometer error?
  18. On Monday, the store manager at hyper said they got a brand new $120k laser alignment machine at hyper penrose. @1randomkiwi Don't know what effect that will have on alignments Once I do my struts this weekend, i'll probably take it to autoline aye. They are happy to align to your specifications as well.
  19. 1999 VR4 Legnum Type S. Amazing car, handled so dam well! And pretty quick. Was at 175km and was putting holes in my wallet so was time to go. Was a beat up mess when i got it. Picked it up for 4.5k at 135km on the clock. Spent a lot of money getting it as tidy as below. If only i could have kept it..
  20. We should ask D-tech to do a clubsub discount. With all the recommendations we've been sending their way
  21. I'll second d-tech. Drive down in the morning and you'll most likely be on your way back to Auckland before midday with a nicely tuned machine
  22. Sweet thanks @kwi_fozze Do you rekon i could get away with using the stock sway bar mounts, and just change endlinks, bar and bushings for the rear?
  23. After measuring my sway bars, we found both front and rear to be 19mm? Odd i thought the front would have been 22mm as it feels like there's less roll on the front. Wanted to go down the cheaper route of just poly bushes and end links, but i cant find any uprated rear 19mm bushings? They are all 20mm and above. So the only option is stock really, with nolathane front bushings. Which would probably make it worse. If i go with a whiteline 22mm rear sway bar and leave the front sway bar at 19mm with nolathane bushings, am i going to dramatically make the car prone to oversteer?
  24. How to kill a great looking car 101
