  1. What aftermarket ecu and who is doing the install. Will you be able to run canbus and get the dash display working correctly. Is the install piggybacked with factory ecu or standalone.Sorry for all the questions.
  2. Good to know,I thought the pink top feeds first came out on the wrx V7 sti.I’m basing what I know on cars I’ve owned.I thought 2002 was the last of the Legacy tt. Subarus I’ve owned, WRX v2 jdm,v2 ra,v2 sti,v3 jdm,v3 sti,v3 sti 555,v4 sti,v5 sti Legacy 94 tt rs (single turbo conversion),98 tt rsb,98 bh tsr,02 bh gtb auto (all with sun roof) Current,Legacy 07 bl b4 6mt,07 Outback 3.0 auto,Impreza 1.8 auto
  3. Yellow side feeds came with v3-6 wrx sti/ra and legacy 97-02 tt.
  4. Hopefully when the weather gets colder.
  5. I’d like to see the torque figures on that diesel tractor.
  6. Yellow side feeds will fit v1/2 manifolds.v1-4 fuel rails will not swap with v5/6.
  7. Back in the day, before the internet.Decided to put a bigger cam in my Mini.Problem was the only way I could figure out how to remove the cam chain was to remove the clip that holds the chain together. While racing my mates Escort over the Bombay’s,chain let go.Replaced single chain with duplex chain and and installed properly. Or later on when I replaced the short block in my Escort Sport and didn’t replace the spigot bearing.Put it all back together and couldn’t change gears.Engine in and out and back in over a evening.
  8. Phil at Dynotech.Early days at the moment, will look at pros vs cons regarding dual maps, flex fuel and another tuner.Just happy to know I can move forward with the factory ecu.
  9. Just heard back from the tuner, seems my twin scroll Legacy ecu will support dual maps or flex fuel.
  10. Just taken a picture of my ecu to send to a tuner in Wellington, possibility of running ecutek and dual maps.
  11. Yellow injectors, link ecu, maybe a new fuel pump and fuel filter depending on the condition of yours and a tune.
  12. Was told by two tuners,Vf45 flows same as vf38 but has better top end without vf38 reliability issues.
  13. Possibly same turbo as my bl,Vf45.Running nearly 20 psi with factory tmic, car made great torque.Jumped of the mark like a stabbed rat.Combination of high compression, factory tmic, turbo turning into a hair dryer and nanny ecu,fun denied.I’d love to be able to run flex fuel on this car.
  14. Great power for stock turbo. What are the mods?
  15. Same thing happened to my Legacy bh.Wingers (Snow M era) wanted to replace the abs unit, auto sparkie did a scan and replaced the high stop bulb.
  16. Subaru mechanic with diagnostic gear couldn’t find the problem, auto electrician sorted it.Replaced alternator, problem solved. The cars original alternator charged 14 + volts running.Auto electrician mentioned a additional circuit in the alternator specific to the cam angle sensor?
  17. Have you checked the alternator.Had same problem with my 2002 Bh twin turbo.
  18. Subi-Performance Borg Warner EFR Subaru Forester part 2.Check out turbo beanie for efr turbo and “Heatshield Armour” installed to aftermarket headers.
  19. Does the aftermarket clutch plate have a solid center or springs.Mechanic talked me into a solid center clutch plate and said if I didn’t like it,he’d replace it no charge.Quick test drive, gearbox rattle was unbearable, returned car, picked up car next day with new sprung center clutch. Maybe not your issue, but it looks like your going to have to drop your gearbox to find the problem.Would pay to have a replacement gearbox ready if needed.Ask here for a recommended Subaru mechanic in your area.
  20. Go genuine,Subaru have made changes to the idler bearings. Was also told the genuine belt gives more accurate timing and that the variable cam timing is harder on belts.MRT Performance YouTube “Old vs new Ej cam and timing belt comparison, what to look for” just posted.
  21. Give David from TuneTechnic a call.Very knowledgeable guy.Does a lot of ecu work for other workshops.Unlocked my previous tune which I’ve been told is not an easy job.
  22. There’s a nice Aussie new Legacy face lift 2.5 sti sedan on Tm for a lazy $26000 with your name on it.
  23. I can understand the appeal of going to a aftermarket ecu,but is it possible that most open source tuners don’t have a full understanding/can’t be bothered with the canbus Legacy 2.0 ecu.MRT have had success with Ecutek in Oz and Cobb in USA with canbus 2.5 Legacy’s.They seem to be unlocking new features on a ongoing basis. If you are going to go to a 2.5 engine wouldn’t it maybe better to go to a 2.5 Legacy and reap the benefits of the USA aftermarket parts and Ecutek,Cobb support or reloom your car with a 2.5 ecu, loom and do your 2.5 engine build with correct heads.Either way, lots of time, money or frustration.Haltech do a plug in ecu for the pre facelift Legacy, maybe talk to them.
