  1. You won't be able to do it without compressors - I have some.
  2. @gc8wrx message me if you want me to take a look.
  3. Mmm I'd keep driving to a minimum if that's the case. Springs are something you don't want to get wrong.
  4. @awd.club my engine builder has a brand new forged short block assembled ready for deliver for $2800. If you're interested pm me please.
  5. @gc8wrx never got to drive it man, only took feedback from Dan, but come around and we can take it for a drive and listen to the noises. BOV might be adjustable and wound really tight which could be causing that. We can look at it too. It's got brand new Jamex lowering springs so if it's rubbing or doesn't sound right then they may not have been installed properly or have possibly lost their correct seating during settling. Again, happy to take a look. Feel free to Facebook message me at Hacksaw Brett
  6. Still not finding any concrete information unfortunately but this comparison by ECUTEK is really nice. http://www2.ecutek.com.au/ecu_original.htm
  7. I just took my time and followed the instructions. It's not hard to install and you need to play around with various settings to get it how you want. If that's not up your ally then an ecu and turbo swap could give you similar results. What is the ecu numbers?
  8. Max pushed a WRX block to 240wkw approx with a twin-scroll conversion. As long as you're not silly, adding a little more power is usually fine. If you don't want to go down the STI upgrades path a more cost effective solution could be running an electronic boost controller. I bought and 'tuned' a Gizzmo one which was really, really nice. Had a range of built in safety features which are also 'tuneable'. Was $350 for the whole kit iirc and I upped from the stock STI boost which I believe is about 1 bar (or 14.5psi )to 17.1psi. Boost came on slightly earlier and very, very hard. Was really exciting to drive. Happy to be corrected if anyone knows the stock STI boost here.
  9. Could you tell me the 2 letter alpha-numeric ECU code by unbolting the protective ECU plate under the passenger carpet? I've heard some people do an AFM, injector, ECU and turbo swap for some STI-like power. You've already got yellow injectors (STI) and I think you have an RA ECU but I'm not sure if that's a WRX RA or an STI edition. Also, I'm not sure if the AFM is STI or not and how to tell - someone else may know - it's an insert type like I've seen on v5/6 STI but not sure if there was a difference like with green/orange sticker ones. But basically, if you upgrade your fuel, ecu, and air intake + turbo to STI parts the car will be running an STI power map. FYI when I installed the exhaust the spool difference and response was night and day according to Dan. The down-pipe bell-mouth shapes are completely different with the stock almost blocking off the waste-gate section and the exhaust I installed having a fully open part for gasses to flow through.
  10. Yeah - from what I can tell, it's a UK version. Do you have any plans for it?
  11. You bought it from a friend of mine. He bought my exhaust and I fitted it for him.
  12. Nice man. That car was in my garage just a fortnight ago. Fitted that exhaust to it. Was from my limited RA. Super nice exhaust. I'm very jealous. I had a good look under that car while it was here too. Also, I did a bit of research on the model code - very unique model code with a lot of conflicting information. Really nice car though.
  13. I'm doing a build with a similar turbo, 6758 v-band EWG. It's a single-scroll turbo but I'm running twin-scroll Impreza headers and making a customer rotated pedestal. I'll be running my car in with a VF36 however while I get stuff fabricated. From the results I've seen in my own car and in speaking to others with very similar setups, VF36 will max out around apporx 240kw on 98 and approx 280kw on Ethonol. In regards to the 6758 for my motor, 2.1L, I'm expecting to make some decent power as I'll be running it at some pretty high boost levels with a balanced motor that flows a lot of air. A friend of mine is running this on Hyabusa motor, 1300cc, on 7psi making well over 300kw. This is dedicated track car however, so I don't really know if it's comparable. While my friend and I have identical 6758s, they are not the 'off-the-shelf' variant. They've been modified to run in the Indy Car series so I don't know if they flow any differently or what have you. However, buy a turbo to suit a) your driving style and preference b) power goal. There is no magic turbo, so like most people, you'll have to sacrifice one or the other to find that happy-medium Re: your comment above about "boost tapering off" - are you saying the boost line is not horizontal all the way after hitting the target boost level? I can understand torque and power tapering off but if your boost is taping off wouldn't that be a leak or something?
  14. I could be keen yeah. I do like a decent coffee.
  15. @YoungOne this is absolutely disgusting. I feel for the guy man. I get so irate about theft in general. Takes the lowest of the low to steal from someone. Such an invasion of personal space and trust. Makes me so mad. I was recently thinking of approaching the local police an offering to use my car to sting these scumbags. Seriously, I'm so over it. @IZichard Agree, maybe the only way is to GPS every car. But even then, there will always be ways around it. Like you said too, where are all the parts going? Facebook is as good a black market as anything but I don't typically see high profile parts on there. Are they being shipped off overseas?
  16. Was that the same one on TradeMe not long ago for around 30k?

    STI Forester

Are you looking at that blue one on TradeMe?
  18. Mucked around with some white balance in the camera after a polish.
  19. If you give us a budget you have in mind we may be able to give you some ideas of what you can pick up
  20. Anyone know who this may be? Sounds like it has SS exhaust but other than that it appears stock from the outside.
  21. Is that the section just right before the cursor? Here's 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear if this helps
  22. @Dairusire you asked about the timing on my white car. I had a bit of a chat to my boss who runs a race car and he was curious too. Thoughts on this?
