  1. I went 2L GT auto for the adaptive cruise control (2007 GT Si-Cruise)
  2. Nice, where abouts did you pick this up?
  3. here's how to DIY the connector to the back of the headunit...
  4. This might be handy too, if you want to DIY
  5. I'm using something similar to this with BTSSM... http://www.ebay.com/itm/VAGCOM-USB-KKL-Cable-For-AUDI-Volkswagen-OBD2-OBDII-Car-Diagnostic-Scanner-LO-/161823764428?hash=item25ad72afcc:g:c4MAAOSwsB9V876S&item=161823764428&vxp=mtr also have this ODBII adapter to relocate the vagcom/obd2 connector under the dash... http://www.ebay.com/itm/191595147984?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rmvSB=true
  6. Karl, if you continue to have no luck, the below is what fixed my hard 2nd -> 3rd shift... $10 for the cable and borrowed a laptop. Hook it up, run the program, go into the Transmission section, clear the memory, done.
  7. Awesome, for anyone running an android tablet in their Subaru, I've gotta recommend the app BTSSM (you'll need a $10 USB vagcom cable to connect to your OBDII port). It's fantastic for monitoring/logging/gauges. http://www.btssm.com/
  8. Good video for this thread: (note: he gets light speed travelling through different mediums around the wrong way, fast vs slow)
  9. o0o0o0 nice, thanks, will have to look in to this too
  10. Yeah, what updates do these PAK files include? Are they solely for the TCU?
  11. I haven't read too much about it but these might be interesting... Tuning line pressure? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/tune-5eat-line-pressure-149282.html Valve body upgrade for faster shifts: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/5eat-valve-body-upgrades-finally-164484.html
  12. NZ$3 from these guys (I've tested this one, works ok): http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=CABDNX6019&name=DYNAMIX-10cm-USB-2.0-Micro-B-Male-to-Type-A-Female Or $4: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=ADPDNX0820&name=DYNAMIX-USB-2.0-Type-A-Female-to-Micro-B-Male-Adap Also, depending on your device, this will allow both OTG devices and charging at the same time. I also have this, works fine with Nexus 7 and Nexus 5: Search on ebay for something like 'Charging Data Cable USB Type A Female to Micro USB Male OTG + Micro USB Female Y'. It cost me NZ$1.11
  13. Like kwi_fozze said, they won't flash the ECU but the one I have can perform ECU/TCU resets as well as read data/log. RomRaider/FreeSSM work but for really fast updating monitoring, BTSSM is the only way (Android app - www.btssm.com). My cable is like this one, I bought it years ago though so I have no idea if anything has changed in the way they're made etc. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBD2-USB-KKL-VAG-COM-409-1-Cable-Auto-Scanner-Diagnostic-Tool-for-Audi-VW-SEAT-/281791517760?hash=item419c155440&item=281791517760&vxp=mtr
  14. You can also do this yourself with a TCU reset using FreeSSM and a simple USB vagcom cable. Not a new PAK file, but your TCU will relearn shifts hopefully clearing any hard shifts.
  15. +1 what are the details? model? sizes? offset? tyres?
  16. Yeah I'm working on a post about it here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/cndnsd-2007-gt-si-cruise-bp5-244063.html#12 This is a diagram of how I've connected everything.
  17. http://www.btssm.com/ on a Nexus 7
  18. I've bought it from Winger Greenlane and North Shore in Auckland before, they'll most probably ship it? http://www.winger.co.nz/parts-greenlane.aspx
  19. Probably mostly the same but different features. Mine is 6CD + minidisc (gx-204je).
  20. That's an ok price to save pissing about with the wiring yourself _b
  21. I didn't want to pay for an adapter like: http://www.world-beatsonic.com/audiovideo_cables/avc9-subaru-aux-input/ Audio input cable to provide 2 x RCA external inputs to the factory sound system. Connect MP3, Smartphone, iPod etc. to factory audio. Connects via 8-pin plug behind audio head unit. “T-harness” with 50cm cable length. Suitable for McIntosh and Premium Sound systems. Made in Japan. Compatible with Subaru vehicles: Legacy (May 2006 – May 2009) Outback (May 2006 – May 2009) So I looked at making this connection myself. This is for a non-McIntosh headunit - I'm not sure if the McIntosh has a similar setup? Also it's for a facelift BP/BL model so there may be some differences (I guess at least you need an AUX button on your headunit). Anyway, I got this installed last night so thought I'd put together this how-to for anyone else looking at embarking on this without shelling out for expensive adapters. I think the greatest discovery was finding the rainbow ribbon cable wires fit directly into the factory i85 connector! Video: http://i.imgur.com/8n8X9LC.jpg
  22. Another BP5 find... I noticed this small grate in the centre armrest console/storage box. Sliding it back and forth opens a vent to the rear ducted aircon! This is now a little cooler box, rad. rear aircon vents... cooler box vent...
  23. True, although would it ever target 25psi at 1000rpm? Looking at the Target Boost table it'd only target 25psi at 1000rpm if the requested torque value is 425+ The most aggressive RequestedTorque table (Sport#) has a RequestedTorque value of 425+ at the RPM of 2800+ with an Accelerator Pedal Angle of 80%+ So going by that it'd only attempt to target 25psi if RPM is 2800+ and pedal angle is 80%+? It does seem a bit basic to me, gotta be more to it to tune the 3 Si-Drive modes better?
