  3. Hi Guys ~ Im halfway thru wiring up my new tow bar wiring kit and have had no trouble doing left and right indicators, earth, etc.....but have one wire left to connect and one last question: I went to hook into the brake lights & found there are three possible wires to connect to, here is a photo: The wires are coloured from left to right: solid black, white with black stripe and solid red. The black wire seems to terminate on the side of the unit, whereas the other two fit thru the bottom. Which one do I connect to? car is 1996 JDM wrx sedan Cheers!
  4. Their must be a few Batman fans that are Subaru owners - have seen RIDDLER on a WRX around Taupo
  5. Sweet, turns out it was just a water hose, whew! This is the second waterpipe I've had leak over the last year - is it worth replacing them all if they are getting to the age where failure is likely to happen?
  6. Think you're right, actually I think it may be a Chevy Blazer

  8. Heres some photos I took while in America a few weeks back. Its just a few of the sights you see on the freeways mixed with a few car crimes & a few American classics I stumbled upon (oh, and a few pics of fun times at a gun range in Las Vegas). Typically there were lots of riced Civics, Camrys & Escalades on 22” rims etc etc that were to quick to photo but you get the jist. Thought some of you may appreciate some of these: Here is our rental car, a 2009 V70, went pretty hard when you gave it the jandal, not bad for a 3.2litre V6 Token stretched hummer: Riced Mustang; Typical subtle hummer: Car transporting US style, 3 cars towed with a pick up: Bad boy 4x4: Dodge Rumble Bee, same engine as Viper IIRC: Stretched Big daddy limo: Las Vegas Gun Store Desert Eagle 0.50cal: Thompson M1A1 0.45cal submachinegun: Osama Bin holed target: One of the prizes at a casino in Vegas: Riced PT cruiser: Token Elvis style limo: Get your kicks on: Shelby cobra mustang:
  9. good news - at this stage it looks like just a leaking water pipe, phew! Will find out more on Monday
  10. cheers for that guys. Is it still ok to drive it between now & when it goes to the mechanic as long as I keep an eye on the fluid levels, or not worth the risk at all?
  11. Thanks mate, appreciate that. Guess I'll take it to the mechanic asap then. Have had a radiator pipe burst earlier this year, so fingers crossed its a case of the same. Besides the drip & sizzle sound, there's no other symptoms as the car drives fine & temp gauge is normal. I've searched but couldn't see the symptoms listed anywhere - could anyone add some here please?
  12. Hi guys, After driving my WRX home tonight, I noticed a drip & sizzling sound. I've checked under the car & there are no puddles, so I'm guessing the leak is small at this stage & is dropping onto the exhaust & burning off. I've checked the wiper fluid reservoir & no leaks there. Checked the radiator level & it does seem lower, when I lifted the lid I heard a few drips. My question is, is there anything else it could be besides a head-gasket? I'm guessing head-gasket, as cooling pipes don't really sit above the exhaust to drip down on. Roughly how much would a head gasket replacement be?
  13. No, he's more of just an anti-everything elite-ist. [quote name='dynofiend said: The article says they are only buying one.... thanks, that was an interesting read
  14. ha ha! love the quote "a stark reminder that enthusiasm and ego aren't a suitable replacement for talent."
  15. YUCK! - so this new versions got framed windows? can't wait to see one in the flesh tho, may be better than it looks in the pics
  16. yeap, and that's excluding the actual TV tuner unit I sold months ago

Oh to have a bag of cash to do whatever you want with!
  18. ha, ha - heres hoping! plus I've listed it all on tard me, so may even get some sucker to pay me to take it away (instead of me paying to dump it!)
  19. all sorted - cut wires & no problems at all. removed 5m of TV arial wires & about 3m of GPS wires, im sure I'll notice the 0.000021543 cent savings next time I fill the tank
  20. sounds like the best plan, cheers! mate, there is at least a metre or two of wiring there - I'd rather loose it completely than have to hide it under the carpets. [quote name='boostin said: If you're in Auckland, bring it to me. I'll rip it all out for you. thanks for the offer - but Im in taupo
  21. thanks fullas, GPS makes sense, funny thing was, I think there was one yellow wire going from the surplus wiring the length of the car to the tail-light / brake light, wonder what that was for?
  22. what would be the point of that?
  23. cheers guys for your comments. all the excess wiring is just sitting there & is only connected to the original wiring loom at the ECU by that one lime green wire & red junction box. I guess I'll label which wires I cut & hope if sh!t happens I can simply re-connect what I cut.
