  1. So, we've been trying to sort the clutch change in @bigDnz's BE5, after many a pain in the ass situations, we finally have everything in. But one major problem left, the clutch won't actually disengage. The release bearing has definitely clicked in, and the pedal has been set with full throw. It feels fine, it feels like it's pulling the plate, but not enough to actually release it. Any suggestions on things to try? Somebody said to me to replace the rod in the slave with something longer?
  2. Hi there. Anyone in Dunedin have a spare spigot bearing in Dunedin. Preferably needed ASAP otherwise I'll go to a shop in the morning. Thanks, UPDATE: I GOT ONE!!
  3. Yeah hi, I have a 2007 Subaru WRX with a heavy clutch. The travel isn't an issue at present. I was advised to get the clutch replaced by my local mechanic. What I'd like to know is, how do you know when the time has come for you to to replace your clutch? Thanks in advance
  4. Hi all, Looking for some feedback regarding this topic. My 08 BP9 needs a new clutch (asap...). Currently running the original (as far as I can tell) dual mass flywheel set up. I have searched through the archives and see the general consensus is to replace with a single mass flywheel. I like the idea of this and from what I understand it will be better in terms of performance and also easier on the wallet. The downside being potential vibration and gearbox chatter. Speaking with Ajay (Subirex), he said that issue only occurs on a case by case basis. Can anyone give me further detail regarding this conversion (potential future issues?) and/or any reasons why I shouldn't go down this route...? Cheers in advance! NZ new 2.5i 5MT
  5. when driving my 2000 gtb when driving the car slightly cold taking if I try to take off without giving it any revs the whole car judders really violently. Im not sure if its a serious problem I should look at, because if I warm up the car fully then drive it is fine or if I ride the clutch it is also fine. anyone experienced this before or can anyone share some knowledge?
