Those of you who have got full engine rebuilds done there what did it cost approx? i've never had one done or no anyone who has so im going into this blindly.

I want to get it fully rebuilt with forged parts (so im guessing it is not going to be cheap, but that doesn't bother me) just need to know how long i need to save my pennies haha

is your crank reusable? the shortblock cases? going with the same heads, are you stripping them down or just slapping them back on 'as is'?

are you going to pull the motor yourself or get someone to do it for you?

One would assume you'll do a cambelt, tensioners, oil and water pumps all at the same time? Block will want a hone most likely.

as a ballpark pistons and rods are about the 1k mark for each set of 4, depending on the source and strength of the dollar. so you'd drop 2k right there, about 6-700 for head gaskets.

id pick between 5 and 6k, closer to the 6 for a very basic rebuild and pulling the motor yourself.

I must admit Alex and Carlos looked after me today with the STI..

i just needed some upper engine cleaner and a oil change

I supplied my oil ... the brand they had never heard of before... but they were impressed with it & the condition of the old stuff they pulled out..

I had a really good chat with both of them and will definitely return to them for work if needed

What brand is it?

Alex is a really great guy. I would definitely go back again!

sorry for such a late post.

this is what i use since day 1 in my STI... awsome oil

had the top radiator pipe replaced and a new set of gaskets installed on the rocker covers from Alex and the team at Highbrook.

Not cheap but thats life ..better then having the car go up in smoke ...

This might be a bit late, but I had a whole heap of stuff done on my sti by Alex at highbrook auto. They were reasonably priced and the service was excellent. I would recommend them for sure!

I gave them a shot based on recommendations on here and am very satisfied

It's been a while since I've posted in the forums. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm working at Highbrook Automotive, have been for almost a year now and i have noticed a few fellow member's cars being brought in. Just a friendly reminder that Club sub members get a 10% discount across the board through us. Be good to see a few more familiar faces. Don't be shy, come say hi to Spencer!  See you all at the monthly meet next week.

Yeah if you are a clubsub member please remember to let the office staff know that you are a clubsub member. And yes i do as i did the repair. However the car didnt catch my attention or else i would have let the office know that you are a member. The CS stickers do help! We have a forester in at the moment going for a super big forged 2.5 build!

Berg are you the owner of the forester? As you may already know your block has been sent away to be doweled and sleeved!

Sadly mine is just the little silver STi. But I did see some serious engineering going on for another engine being built!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
