it gets worse people..

My clutch is munted, needs to be replaced, and spigut bearing seized (sp.)

The turbo is also poked - as per popular opinion, has a couple of bent blades and has lots of debris on all blades. turbo has gasket cement of the exhuast side so may have damaged exhuast wheel as well...

The up pipe was completely in two peices... or "rooted" as rick said.

Has the block out and he tells me its also likely got seized gudion pins(sp.) or nearly done a BEB.. is currently investigating..

this is where i break down and wonder what the hell im going to do.. or how much worse it could get.

i think the poll should of been how many Kw's i actually pulled on the dyno and at Taupo...

120 i think would have been very generous...

So heres more from rick...

new engine time or rebuild...

Well looks like the noise is from the gudgeons ( appears to have had small end bearings replaced ) SEB

And they are way too tight

The engine has STD size factory HF forgies, the crank bearings have been done and the crank has been ground to 0.25mm on mains and 0.75m on big ends

These bearings are quite worn and will need replacing. Essentially the engine needs full rebuild

I can't believe that the engine wasn't using water,as the main case bolts seals where missing on 2x bolts !

One of the case O-rings for the oil pressure feed was split in half !!

I'm off now to the reconditioner with armfulls of parts to be measured and assessed.

Will hold off doing crank repair until we have a full damage report from them

Why not just junk it all and buy a new motor from Possum Bourne? Use your accessories and your new turb and way you go.

All up about 5g. My rebuild was $5500!

And youd be surprised how often the crank pulleys come off boxer engines a!

WARNING. Check your crank pulley bolts on servicing. YOu need to wind the hell outta them!

They arent held on by much thread.

Seems alot of the trouble you may have had in the bottom part of your motor maybe those other parts being tight and making your motor work more. A couple thou clearance here and there dont take alot to chuck something else out.

If its been rebuilt before mate it certainly not your fault. Just one of those thing. Get your mate to get it all checked and if you have comeback youll have ammo.

looking that way.. thinking new short block is going to be the way to go.. did that rebuild include labour, clutch, turbo?

I can scan/email the receipt to you if you want?

That was just labour to fit it all together mate.

well at least the TUNE got nothing to do it with!

i said it was the turbo and the rebuilds ( though it was the rings?)

think a standard STI replacement will do the goods, capable of taking more grunt from the engine and is not a part i need to throw money at.. have a replacement sti number in my GTB and i liked it..

Its the engine and turbo combinations and flavors that dazzle me - thanks rick ;)

and also thanks to rick for the countless phone calls to date... descriptions, and options, photos and even the video. Is happy to describe everything along the way thats for sure.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
