Yup, removed the rear seats and belts but otherwise setup was the same. Tuning the driver

Do the tires first then worry about the driver. With decent road tires and "driver tuning" there is at least 5 secs there to grab...

I'm guessing that MercuryFree is quicker in corners than Thorpy?

But Thorpy don't have speed cut so on straight he got up to 210kph but MercuryFree has speed cut so couldn't go more than 185kph

I have brembos. That probably accounts for all the difference. Was following thorpy at one stage and was much deeper into corners (although slower out of them)

Max speed of about 160kph (non turbo power!) on bald achilles tyres

Got this time from the only in car footage I have, and there was a bit of sideways action in every lap, so I'm sure I went around faster than that without the camera rolling

First time at hamptons and first trackday with the subaru so a bit of hamfisted driving and takiing braking zones pretty easy. Aiming for a 1:20.xx with the car as is if possible.

I have brembos. That probably accounts for all the difference. Was following thorpy at one stage and was much deeper into corners (although slower out of them)

Yeah I have really good brakes but havnt yet built the confidence to put them to good use , im braking far too early on most corners , also after watching my videos I have alot to improve on the lines I take .

And with my bearing failure 2 days later I suspect it may have started to go as the car was getting very hard to crank over during MM.

Practise makes perfect then...u will be able to pull up well inside 100m when u get more sure of them.

I only got 1.48 on my best lap but hit over 230 on the straight ;D turns out im slow on corners and braking about 1km too early

w00t, went to a playday event at taupo on sunday and did a 1:51.68, pretty happy as the car is basically stock and my first time at taupo in that car.
