2003 Subaru GT Legacy - Sounds a bit dull

Hey Guys

Im just after some opinions on what to do to my gt legacy to make it sound a bit more like a subaru, but the kicker is i dont want to spend a great deal of cash and i dont care about getting anymore power from it, i just want it to be all sweet on my insurance and sound the way a subaru should.

any thoughts?

well your GT will probably have twin scroll headers mated to a (twin scroll) td04. Thus your headers will be set up equal length and 'boring' as you put it.

To get the subbie sound you would need to change the headers (and probably the upipe). Then open up the exhaust with a turbo back or diff back exhaust and it will be purring nicely.

expect to pay around 1k for the turbo back exhaust, half that for the diff back, and headers is anyones guess as i dont know of an unequal header available for the 2004 model.. if your lucky the earlier stuff (or even the v7/8/9 WRX*) headers might fit.

*I know v7/8 is and Im fairly sure v9 WRX are still single scroll unequal length.
