Is there any real benefit to upgrading BH5 brakes from 2 pot to 4 pot front caliper or is it simply cosmetic?

I had 4pots/braided lines/fluid/decents pads on my Bh5 - was better than stock, but I suppose if you perform the same to stock calipers they'll be similarly good, for normal street use anyway.

Bigger brakes = better heat dispersion is my understanding.

Plus they look cool lol!

Did you just upgrade fronts or do rears as well?

Have them on my BE5, obviously can't compare them to non four/two pot. But it does stop really good even with average pads. Definitely doesn't feel the 1.5 ton that it is, really good feel as well. Will go for good pads when these ones die and possibly do brake lines as well.

Edit: also big red brakes look great and add 5kw.

If you're not tracking your car regularly or doing any real strenuous driving, I'd stick to good pads and good fluid. Until you score 4 pots for super cheap.

Anyone have a throttle jam open? Mine jammed at about 6000 rpms last week. I found the tiny rubber boot that protects the end of the throttle cable had fallen down the cable to under the throttle linkage. Would this have caused the problem?

Your bang on the money. Had this problem myself. Although it happened to me the day I brought my type r. Thought I brought a lemon! Almost shat myself

I had it jam open at a Trentham autocross. Not a lot of room there. A little bracket that holds a couple of vac(?) lines tidy over the manifold rattled out and fell under the open throttle.

Mate had that happen coming out of an intersection didnt have time to correct and rear ended a parked car.

4 pots tend to go for around 300. Scored some for 200 with pads today which was a sweet deal.

Usually 150 without rotors and 200 with.

Different bracket spacing otherwise identical sub are wider. Im running gtst ones with adaptors to suit 315mm bl/bp rotors.

I been reading you can use them but need adapter plates as the mounts are different but you can run bigger rotors than the suby oned

Nope. Adapter shape works better with nissan ones. Common mod in the states and fit behind sti 16s.

Got a dumb audio questions

Bought a high to low level converter, using it to get a signal to the new sub. The rca output is just left and right which makes sense but the high level input has left +ve and -ve, right +ve and -ve which has me a bit stumped as the stock sub has the expected +ve and -ve. Should i go across from left +ve to right -ve like bridging two channels on an amp or something else??

Have just fitted Zerosports intake pipe and now can hear air through air box at same as the BoV vents. Anyone else had this problem. Airbox doesn't seem to seal properly

Don't worry about it, the rubber intake hose muffles a bit of sound and now you're hearing it louder.

If the airbox doesn't seal right then just use a bit more effort to make it click into place, or fiddle with the silicon joiners on the Z/S hosey thing

Thanks dude, I loosened it off and gave it a wiggle so fingers crossed :-) long as no-one else can hear funny air box sound lol
