Subaru b4 rsk rev d help!!!!!!!!!!!

From Wikipedia

The fourth revision of the third-generation Legacy, introduced during 2001, made several important but subtle changes to the front of the car. The fenders, grille, and headlights were altered slightly, making interchangeability with Rev1-c impossible. The headlights in the Japanese market were of the HID variety, and were slightly smaller, while the grille also shrank slightly. The HID headlights had a dashboard mounted adjustment switch that allowed the driver to re-aim the headlights to reduce glare to approaching traffic. The bonnet also became a lighter alloy, similar to that available on the STI's at the time. Compression and timing changed in order to further reduce the effect of loss of boost during the switch over from the primary to secondary stages. The ECU also got an upgrade, it is now tunable by the manufacturer or third party tuning workshops.

Hope this helps

I am also looking at a B4. Year 2000. Has the electronic dash. Engine number EJ-208DWCBE. Is this the revised model of the B4? Im guessing it is, when did the new model come out? Car is registered in 2000, but is it a newer model?

With the revised engine, are they less prone to cause problems?

Any help would be great.

thanks

hmmm okay thanks alot. . . so even though the engine number has 'd' ( EJ-208DWCBE) included its not a rev.d engine? thanks for the photo. Im obviously not looking at a rev.d. . .http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=359726023

Yeah mate you're looking in the wrong place - 'revision D' is a package, not just an engine. That there is a revision C.

The headlight method is a very safe bet because you have to change the grill, bonnet and bumper in order to fit a rev D headlight to a rev C car. And even then I'm not sure the mounts are the same. Also rev D's have a little roller to the right of the steering wheel for aiming the headlights. There's an easy way to tell if you pop the hood as well. The plastic engine cover is different, also some vac lines are different. Rev Ds also come with solid 5 spoke wheels as opposed to the split 5 spokes of previous revisions.

Rev D came in late 2001.

Hope that helps :)

All B4 with Factory HID headlights have this.

Yes headlights do give it away. But check the Chassis code!!!

Thanks for all the help guys, ill probably stay away from the B4 i linked above. I have already owned a 1999 B4, caused alot of trouble. I must be a sucker for punishment to be even considering another one, they're just bloody nice cars!. If i was to purchase another it would definitely have to be a revD model.

Engine number of my BH5D is EJ208DWEBE if that helps. Rev-D was introduced from mid 2001.

You need the CHASSIS code not the engine number...

As stated before it will be as follows BH5Dxxxxx or BE5Dxxxxxx

Oh and changing over a bumper, bonnet and lights aint that hard, you just need patience and a good eye..

You mean like I told the OP right at the start of this thread? ::)

I was giving engine number as well so he had something else to compare.

Sorry to open up a new thread but I have just bought a new legacy BE5 with a weird mix of different revisions.
If anyone could help me interpret this I'd be alot of help because I have to source a couple pistons.3eb00732006f5b89602bc86de13b12f5.jpg

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
