Gizzmo Ibc install

11 posts in this topic

Hi guys, I had a second hand gizzmo Ibc installed in my wrx by a Subaru mech the other day, but he was having difficulty setting it. He installed it according to the instruction manual and while the unit has power, he was unable to set it up. It won't go into the set up sequence on start up and just flashed zero and then go into boost display model. I suspect that it wasn't installed properly but the mechanic ensure me that it was installed according to the instruction manual. Please help and give me an idea what might be the issue? Is there a gizzmo support line that I can call? Thanks

Thanks Nade for the link. I have gone through the booklet and checked all the vacuum connections on to the solenoid and they all look fine. Then I setup the ibc unit with duty cycle and gains as instructed then took it for a blast in 3rd and 4th gear. But for some reason I'm only boosting 0.5 bar and the real time boost level and peak boost are not shown/stored in the ibc when I checked it during and after the run. The ibc controller has power but doesn't seem to work? I wonder if anyone here had similar experience? If I can proof that it's an installation problem I can take it back to the garage who installed it. Thanks

When you were setting it up did you keep adjusting the duty cycle between each run til the boost level went up?

Only did a couple o run myself. But I presume the mechanic has adjusted when he tested it as one of the setting has the duty cycle maxed out. I think something isn't right as the real time boost function dot work and the peak boost level stayed at zero even tough my boost gauge tells me that I'm on 0.5 bar.

There is a vaccum line hooked up from ebc controller to the manifold? not meaning the solenoid lines.

You have to adj the duty cycle, say so for mine i set the duty cycle to 40 then foot down hard in 3rd. hits around 14psi. then button 1 to store. make sure you start very high with the duty cycle. i think .5 bar is the factory setting for the EBC

Are the wires hooked up correctly? Is the power hooked up right (i.e. constant power and ACC power done right...)

So you see the real time boost when you drive it? Cos mine just says zero the whole time

/quote]I'm sure the power is on as it's on the whole time and I'm able to go the duty cycle set up etc. I hope all the wires are hooked up correctly as I had a subi mechanic to hook it up.

Hi all. So I've just seen on Facebook about a thing called The Gumboot rally it's on the weekend of the 7th of April. Goes from Hamilton somewhere down to New Plymouth then across to Taupo and also includes The Forgotten Highway which is an awesome road to drive, as I have done it a few times now. If you are interested go have a look on Facebook should be a fun weekend I reckon.

Stay safe on the roads over this time there are some CRAZY people out there who only think about themselves!!

Help me please Hi iv fitted a dump valve to my vectra c 19 cdti 150 bhp. The 1 I bought was a twinport or receculation valve I don't no just bought and had a go of fitting it my self.  On looking at the car I thought I needed to block the 2nd port so have done bought a t and fitted it on the main intake Of The top Of The intercooler to the inlet on to Of The head.  Ran the bleed pipe and td it in to the on top Of The intake now it's just realeasing through the revs rather than when I lift of it's not because I blocked the other port is it thanks
