LOL, its foil sticky tape.. not tinfoil as such. And yes the brake booster is cool to the touch where the tape is applied and hot to the touch where it isnt.

Purely a preventative measure due to no heat shields on the Turbo (there is heat wrap on the DP) but the foil tape actually works very well to reflect heat!

I also put the tape on the underside of the intercooler alloy Y pipe (closet to the turbo)

Ah interesting! Good to see someone trying something a bit different, something I hadn't thought about really.

I may have to think about it, my turbo sits extremely close to my brake booster with it being a twisted setup.

It's available from placemakers, etc. Aluminium tape. Its a bit of a pig to work with and once it sticks to itself you'll never get it unstuck.

that was the old setup. have upgraded to gt37 and twisted turbo . that push loc fitting never came off.

Think it's worth the hassle + cost? Could be a little thing to bang on my cold air box to relfect the hot engine heat.

no hassle, prolly bugger all cost.. if it dosent work out, just take it off...

it certainly is cooler to the touch compared to a surface where its not applied
