as in the alarm remote for the locking?

what sort of alarm is it?

i deal mainly with dynatron and they are fairly simple to do... i.e. about 30s or so - my mate was quite surprised

oh the factory keyless locking in a legacy?

so the key stopped working... it may be a flat battery in the remote... from memory i think it's a CR-1616 if it's the key with the lock and unlock buttons, if it's only got the one button it may be a CR-2025 battery which is common, but only places like jaycar stock the first type.

unfortunately i'm not familiar with that system... but someone here mite be able to shed some light

yep its possible, but you require the original key-fob with remote-IR unlock button to allow you to program a new code.

when i find the info..

If its anything like my GTB you open the doors, hold the drivers door handle up for longer than 6 seconds, then you get a continuos beep, now enter you four digit code, i.e if its 1234, pull handle up once then wait for a beep, pull handle up two times wait for beep and so on. Then it will beep again continuously once you have finished entering code, re-enter same code and hey presto keyless entry.

yep, but somewhere in that sequence you still need to press the remote key unlock button.. otherwise anyone could re-program your door

Actually i don't think you need the remote/key fob/thing because i could program the locks in my old legacy without ever having one. Just had to have the key in the ignition turned to a certain position... can't remember off the top of my head where but most likely "on" i suppose.

Of course it's entirely possible you need it for some years and not for others

I followed these instructions from the manual.

Hopefully this helps, I've never had to press the button on the key.

you will need new key fob and there is a procedure to learn it to your car

Older GT Legacies obviously skip the key-fob step

LOL @ Jase - its ok mate, its a Legacy thing.... you'll never understand!

And at least some BG's as well, that's what mine was and didn't need the key-fob

I did these scans last year for the old keyless entry thread. Those 2 pages are the only 2 in the manual about it.

lo found this on the 2000 clubsub website ;p

You may or may not be aware that your car has a key-less entry facility.

To check, lift the drivers door handle (when locked)

– if it beeps, then your in business.

This will work even if remote is not,

1 - select a four-digit code number

- avoid 0 since it requires 10 pulls on the handle to represent 0).

2 - turn on ignition and open driver’s door.

3 - lift and hold outer handle for longer than 5 seconds

- buzzer gives long beep - this means the system is waiting for a new code.

4 - lift and lower handle the number times for your first number

- wait for single beep.

5 - repeat second, third, and fourth numbers.

- now the system will start beeping – it is requesting you to confirm the code number.

6 - repeat steps 4 and 5.

7 - when the second series of code numbers matches the first series

- a long beep will sound to tell you the code has been registered.

Now test it – lower your drivers door window, turn off ignition, and lock the door.

Now try your code on the outer door handle and you should hear the car unlock.

NOTE

If the wrong code is used five times

- the system shuts down for five minutes.

If the battery is disconnected for longer two hours

- the code will be erased and will require new programming. Clever eh?

Saves a lot of swearing and blaming it on the other person for locking

the keys in there in the first place.

reprogramming BG/BD OEM key fob.

Fit new battery to key fob

remove R/H side kick panel and locate the two plugs that are unplugged ( normally white / clear in colour )

turn ign to on position, manually close door switch by hand, join the connectors together and press key button

Doors will lock then unlock to recognise frequency

Disconnect wires and remove key from Ign

Hi all. So I've just seen on Facebook about a thing called The Gumboot rally it's on the weekend of the 7th of April. Goes from Hamilton somewhere down to New Plymouth then across to Taupo and also includes The Forgotten Highway which is an awesome road to drive, as I have done it a few times now. If you are interested go have a look on Facebook should be a fun weekend I reckon.

Stay safe on the roads over this time there are some CRAZY people out there who only think about themselves!!

Help me please Hi iv fitted a dump valve to my vectra c 19 cdti 150 bhp. The 1 I bought was a twinport or receculation valve I don't no just bought and had a go of fitting it my self.  On looking at the car I thought I needed to block the 2nd port so have done bought a t and fitted it on the main intake Of The top Of The intercooler to the inlet on to Of The head.  Ran the bleed pipe and td it in to the on top Of The intake now it's just realeasing through the revs rather than when I lift of it's not because I blocked the other port is it thanks
