headunit issues

Why not wire it through the ignition like a normal install ?

So key off, stereo off.

Unfortunately I didn\'t do the original installation :/ not sure who did it. It was working fine using the original loom then apparently one day the headunit either slid out and stopped working or something similar. It works with key on, turns off with key off but without the constant it doesn\'t save anything.

I think the issue is an undertaking of electrical work without a correct tester... Get a $20 multimeter from dse or repco or similar, and wire it properly... Will save you a buggered battery...

Yeah that\'s the plan, I have a volt metre already so will use that and borrow a friends tracing wand to find where the break is.

Assuming I can get to it before he sells up before going to aus >_<

blkrex you need to rewire the power. Each head unit will have 2 power wires, one goes to battery and the other to ignition(one for mem or clock the other for complete power)

So you need one wire which is straight to battery so it keeps mem and time ect (sounds like you might already have this wired to the one that should be wired to ignition so do a switch of those 2 wires)

Then the other power wire has to go to an ignition source (easiest would be cig light just splice onto the power side of it)

atm it sounds like you\'ve got half of it correct but if the unit is staying on you\'ve wired it to batter and need to wire to an ignition source instead. Easy way to tell which is which is to go buy 20$ multimeter attached to a ground and then a source you think is power. Check with key out of ignition then again with key in an all power turned on ready to crank. Your looking for a wire that only turns on with the ignition. Or just do the cheapo diyer way and attach it to something else that comes on with ignition like cig lighter or maybe a gauge or something you have in car? Hoping you\'ve got the instructions so it tells you which power wire is which haha otherwise trial and error

hope that makes sense. I \'m in woolston if you are really struggling

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
