EOI - Extinguisher Group Buy

So with the new updates to the MSNZ manual all fire extinguishers now require two quick release straps.

If theres enough people interested ill sort a group buy and save us all some $$ , iirc they are $59 normally ( at Japrace )

The best price I can do on these is $29

Although im sure there are cheaper ones available , these are Flame Guard by Chubb , they are good quality and have a decent mounting bracket and straps.

They are also the model that MSNZ reccomend.

Even if your not into racing its cheap insurance against your car burning to the ground should something go wrong.

Does anyone have any idea where you would buy the straps by themselves?

I had to set my car on fire, just to be sure i was getting my moneys worth from the single strap before it no longer complied. (Hahahaha,... wife is NOT laughing)

anyone who thinks these are a waste of money, i strongly suggest you get one... saved my subby from a sure trip to the dump, (in hindsight, should have let her burn)

Protector Safety (Blackwoods) usually have the 1kg ones with twin metal straps, on sale $27+gst. Although I\'m sure they can be had for cheaper elsewhere as Blackwoods is usually a rip-off.

Wormald , was advised by the MSNZ technical manager that they had organised for them to hold stock of the straps.

try one going off when your student pulls the handle for it when the safety pin was missing as he tried to adjust the seat as your flying over the city. I was not a happy person that day came out cover in white powder and had to fly with the door open to get fresh air!

I drilled two holes in the transmission tunnel from the passenger footwell. Bolts, washers, nuts, done.

Great, local Wormalds are good guys.

NB, while you guys are buying extinguishers, check that they have the full five year service life.

After five years extinguishers need to be pressure tested and re-filled.

Not cost effective with a small 1kg extinguisher so it usually needs replacing.

lol $59 : yea warehouse has been mentioned and they pass, $20 if they are on special at Mitre10 mega and what no, 8mm bolts min iirc

Just a tip.. The 2 metal strap jobbie has "cams approved" on the box.
