Got mine custom made last week, getting tuned on Friday. I think Brad @ JMR still has a couple more to build if anyone's interested. The only other options are ~$800 for a Miltek @ Redline or +$1.5K for a Zero Sports from somewhere like RHD Japan.

Any idea what sort of performance you are expecting from this? The factory one is bell mouth, unless the cats are a massive restriction it doesn't look to bad.

Would you do this front pipe first, or do the cat back?

Do you know much much he wants for these?

Cats [sic] in your exhaust are usually a pretty bad restriction. Historically, the downpipe (front pipe) has been where people have picked up the best bang for buck. I can't imagine a cat back would give you much more than noise.

Its a restriction and no restriction post turbo is good. The inner diameter of muffler is often a major cause of egbp.

Hey bud, i asked Cobb Performance the same question a while ago and this was their response (keep in mind that my question was whether or not it's worth it for me to buy their $2000 catback exhaust or if i was better off buying just a downpipe.

"Honestly, the real restriction is in your downpipe, so I would definitely start there. Once you do that, your cat-back isn't really going to cause any restrictions unless you have well over 300hp, so it would mostly be for sound in your case. If you're looking for power only, I would suggest saving getting a cat-back until later and doing all of the other things you were talking about."

Haven't paid yet! But somewhere in the region of 500-600 fitted. Send a PM to JMR on Facebook if your interested.

I'd do both if you could at the same time, it'll save on labour especially with a custom jobbie like this one. TBH tho I didn't because I was so sick of the anaemic sound from the standard exhaust but I didn't have any other options to fit a down pipe at that time.

I've only done intake and this DP into a 3" Blitz Nur Spec catback. I'm hoping for anything over 200kw @ wheels but ofc depends on other factors. More of a future proof when I change the turbo in a year or so.

Thanks for the info Nik10. Which turbo does the Version 11 STI run? Looks like it's still using the P25 exhaust housing?

Yip, are they still the same DP flange though? Just double checking this pipe will fit onto the back of my VF36/P25. Flange looks identical in the pics.

Yea will fit just splitter difference may vary if fitted with one.

Just had a quick search to see what else is around. This would be about $575 landed, would take a few weeks though. That's an expensive brand though, i'm sure there are a few cheaper ones around.

Not for JDM twin scroll though. Tomei did make one for JDM GDBC/D which is shorter than the Version 11 pipe, but it's been discontinued and no one has stock left.

  • 4 weeks later...

Have a quick search on TradeMe, Not my cup of tea TBH, would rather stick with a high end JAP product over Chinese / Australian / American. Tomei expreme ti cat back is on my list first, will have to wait before I get a down pipe because I cant afford that and a tune at the same time

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
