WHO RETUNES FACTORY ECU?

Hi there

I live in Picton just wondering who is able to retune a factory ECU, wanting more power and economy. Ive got a BE5 Legacy which NZEFI said they don\'t tune. Anywhere else recommended to do a EJ20TT.

that\'ll depend on which revision your car is.

look on the passenger side strut tower, should say chassis code of bh5x or be5x(where x is the revision, a,b,c or d)

only reflashable model is revision d

or an easier way, if it\'s pre 2000, no. post 2000, check chassis code.

It\'s apparently Rev.D

anyone that retunes v7+ *should* be able to do the rev d, as it\'s the same protocol, just a different tune loaded up. there are a few club members around that could do it, but i believe the rev d\'s are um... tricky, to say the least, because of the sequential turbo setup

yep. you have a few options for more power.

single turb it, with a link

single turb it with sti ecu

buy an impreza

i joke. but yeah, gutted, not much on the tuning front for a twin turbo, without being a rev d. the link g4 (iirc) can\'t even run the subie twin turbo setup

that unfortunately is the reality of it.

your engine is basically an sti one with a second turbo. gazzy2000 has on here a FANTASTIC guide for a single turbo conversion, including all the wiring changes required, full parts list etc etc

Righto, Will attempt to single convert, roughy how longs the average time will it take? is it a long weekend job or bigger?

i\'d imagine that if you had everything there, few mates with tools and a few favours you could do it in a long weekend? i\'m not sure tbh, never done it

Told to single convert over twin TD04\'s earlier. Im confused!!! Lol parallel sounds far easier and cheaper

parallel is, yes, as it\'s simply a change in the plumbing.

not as good as a single turbo swap though.

It is nearly as good if you go it properly and run single turbo ecu and same turbos on each side. But I would go single for ease.

I think ill stick to twin TD04 as its in my price and time range. Now I\'ve just gotta find two turbos lol

Should be cheaper to run around town not being on primary all the time
