WTB: 2 bolt coils sort of urgently Christchurch

Hey I\'m after some 2 bolt coils to suit the early legacy (1991 rs legacy bc5). I\'ve got 3 that are cracked and 1 that isn\'t much better

Does anyone have a set or anything in chch? Willing to take singles if that\'s all you have. Or where would be the best car yards to get them on a sunday? I was thinking I would try pick a part

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

You see a lot of them being sold then suddenly none at all except the gy seeling 1 for $100 lol. However you can easy bu the later version rubber tip ones, Im doing it by following this guide:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1192028

If its urgent and your unable to source your plastic ones then buying easy to find rubber ones and converting them will be your best shot unless you don\'t mind catching the bus to work and stuff xD

Yup I had been researching that mod last couple weeks. I managed to get this sorted anyways just replaced the worst 2 coils and fixed a bunch of vacuum leaks and car runs full boost perfectly now :) . When I go twisted I\'ll be doing that coilpack mod I think as I wanna try run a higher boost further down the track once intercooler is sorted ect

Cheers!

or use some high temp silicone sealant around the tips of the coilpacks even if theyre cracked or crack they wont cause any problems stops the spark from jumping. Not 100% sure how safe it is to do but was told by a Subaru wrecker to do it which i did on my coils on my v2 wrx and never had any problems..

Haha yea man thought you already knew but yup that\'s me. Meet you a couple times quite a while ago now though

Interesting re the silicone thing. Was thinking you could probably do that plus some electrical tape as a temp measure but when coils are so cheap its not to hard to source a couple and replace them outright. I kept my old ones just in case

The Suby wrecker i was taking to said he does it to his replacement coils before he installs them stops them from cracking supposedly

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
