Yes. With AVCS you get a different ve at low rpm so your feeling will be weird. Make sure you change trigger patterns to early type though.

Have tuned my car afr wise at the moment but still running v6 base ignition timing until I can sort something out to measure knock. Just came across this though http://www.instructables.com/id/Use-Your-Laptop-as-Oscilloscope/ and was thinking, would it not be an accurate way of measuring knock for like $20..? I dont know, your guys thoughts? Seems like any accurate knock detection equipment costs moonbeams!

well yes it will technically work. the problem you face is do you know what knock looks like? if not then its more dangerous than good

I do and don\'t get where you are coming from.. With a decent oscilloscope program will i not be able to do exactly what the knock block does to analyse knock? I.e take a base runs across different frequencies, take a frequency that is measuring the most noise and use that to make a base line for engine noise. Then as I increase the advance I will be able to see areas that differ from the base line curve that had no knock? The only downside I can see from using this is that I will not have on the fly knock control happening via the ECU as it has no idea if it is detonating or not.

I have got a seriallink now, had a wee look and all the sensors seem to be behaving although i haven't taken it for a blat to load it up, but i was wondering if i could start logging on the ECU then come back and download it, or do i have to leave a PC attached for logging?

G1 has no logging so laptop wilwill have be be connected and someone watching it most likely.

Hey bud I know Danny said a while ago he was running d/c to get a single stage water/meth unit to work across rev range but how do you set up the map for that? Got everything bar the pump so cross that bridge when I get to it just dont want to run a proper controller. Would be a single nozzle pre TB.

A solid state relay will control it along with a pwm out of ecu to it. Just as good if not better than aftermarket controller.

Any benefit vs pumping full noise after 10psi? ****load easier to setup I guess but more wasteage?

You can run bigger nozzles without having issues with when it turns on. But no won't effect power. And less usage with variable

Gains under 15psi not worth it? Thinking of running 2 tunes or just spring pressure with meth turned on just over spring pressure and use boost control to switch meth/high boost on.

That what I did and worked well. There is gains under 15 but not huge. For example I couldn't get over 18psi without pulling heaps of timing on my 2.5 on 95.with meth as well I could run 27-30psi quite happily.

Nozzle is a 1.2mm calculator says I only need 5-7mm which gives a lot of headroom so is 1.2mm too big?

Nope just nozzle size measured it last night pulled it out of a car that was missing pump/tank. Dont know brand either will pxt you tonight you may have some idea.
