yeah sohc legacy. subaru might have different looms for the base model legacy's

Most likely that's the case, looks like higher spec GT and 3.0 all have the needed plug in place. I know 5th gen Legacies and 4th gen push start button 07+ models require a bit of wiring to do, not as straight forward as plug and play.

Shouldn't take long to find, mine was taped to the 3pin plug.

Got all my bits, installed the buttons. Bought a 4 wire sensor after reading it needs one. Looks like the 07 isn't fitted with one on the loom. Damn.

Is yours push start? From what I've read it's still doable. Just a bit more involving as you need to run a few wires from ECU. Similar to 5th gens.

Can confirm this works on pre-facelift gen 4 legacys. Installed it over the weekend on mine (2004 5spd turbo wagon). Cost me $92 for the switch & 4 pin brake switch from Strong's.

No lights on the dash, but works perfectly. Didn't do any updates or anything (that I could see anyway), just plugged in the switches and it worked.

Thanks for all the info in the thread - was a very painless process for me.

Need a different switch from the one shown in this thread for the pre-facelift cars though:

Reviving an old thread....Do you know what part number is the switch for pre-facelift? I see those with facelift BP/BL's used this (https://partsouq.com/en/search/search?q=83370AA001)

Did anyone work out what to do to get this working if no 4 pin connector is available on a JDM 07 GT Legacy??

Don't know if anyone done it in NZ, been successfully done overseas - you need to run two missing wires from ECU, not a straightforward task.

Keep in mind that different ECU will have different pin-outs/colour code for wires. Finding a wiring diagram for your model will be a good start. ECU is located under passenger footwell.

Yes I do. I spent a lot of time figuring it out and finding correct manual etc. I'm willing to do to your car but it's unfair on my customer who had to pay me to research it all for me to make it easily publicly available. I have given enough info to make it pretty easy to do the leg work yourself.

Too easy mate that's fair enough what's your business called and what type of work do you do? Do you have a website?

Google is your best friend. All you really need is to find service manuals with wiring diagrams specific to your Legacy.

Similar to the ones shown below:

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
