Recommended Posts

Hello,

My 2002 Impreza is currently at 99600KM so I am now on the hunt for a good mechanic to get the cam-belt replaced, I am based in Auckland and need some recommendations for a reliable and affordable mechanic. Any suggestions appreciated!

(Also should I get my water pump replaced aswell)

Thanks

subirex if he still does home job or subtech did mine for 1.1k. with loan car and everything replaced for cambelt.

Not sure if he does home jobs much anymore - he works at Highbrook Automotive now :) (great bunch of guys as well, and have a couple of loan cars too)

im not sure about croydon but he did work at both SubTech and Winger's. So he definitely knows his stuff. I have recommended most of my friends to go there and they are all very pleased with his work and prices. Give him a text/call on 0210371393 and say Steve sent ya ;)

I recommend Subirex, he rebuilt my gearbox. Now I'm pretty sure I'll need him to do my DCCD and Rear diff because those two are noisy as fuark and a bit sloppy :P

Apparently sounds like a jet engine when your under the car.

That's what your hit and run victims tell you xD

DCCD is not generally considered a serviceable item (although kamineko probably begs to differ, and I see now Rallispec sells a very expensive rebuild kit).

Who did you end up going with eZ_Harry? Going through the same thing with a 2004 Legacy Wagon I just bought that has just ticked over 100,000km.

Highbrook told me 1.2k, Subtech say 1.1 on their website.

Need a bit of other work done at the same time as well as a full service so the car is starting from a clean state with us...this is our "practical" car as we have a baby coming:)

Hit up subirex automotive. 10 years at wingers hes bloody good at what he does and 15% off for club members iirc. Or tell him clint from clubsub sent you that should do it.

Ahhh, someone earlier in the thread said he was at Highbrook now, but on a quick google he has his own shop now in Manukau. Will definitely give him a yell. Have a 98 BH that will probably need some work at some stage too, but that is down the priority list.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
