Mechanics to do a clutch on an gf8

hay there im located on the north shore and my gf8 sti has decided its time for a new clutch i was just wanting to know average prices and who would you recommend im happy to drive anywhere in auckland for a good deal and a decent job!!! please help me out

if you source the kit yourself it will be cheaper. The kit itself should cost around 450+gst for exedy HD. Labour I would expect it to take about 3/4 day (worth noting you need to have flywheel skimmed so you could find an sti alternate). Also worth doing rear main seal while the box is out and if you can afford another $100 gearbox oil would also be advisable while in the area (assuming they take box out not engine)

It's either box out or engine out job. Both are fairly straight forward and if you have leaking engine seals it could be time to have them done.

At a shop I would expect to pay around the $1000 mark

Also make sure you use someone who knows what they're doing. I chose a workshop who quoted me a cheaper price than everywhere else and had huge problems over the course of about 3 weeks(that's how long they had the car for) which resulted in damage to my gearbox.

ok yea ive had the clutch priced up for about 380 excl gst for a standard 1 but yea a 1000 seems fair just want a good job done ive heard of people paying 1500 all up and to me that just seems steep

If you have room and tools its easy to do yourself just get a friend to help line it back up on dowels and input shaft as its a **** to do yourself.

i cant work under cars due to health issues my body wouldnt let me do it other wise i would

Michael parr automotive in target road... give him a call 4 a price, hes a good guy does great work and is reasonably priced (hes done alot of work on mine/friends subarus)
