BP legacy key blank

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

Does anyone know where i could get a jdm legacy key blank?

My only key broke and luckily we were able to get a copy of the broken off piece and even luckier that my bp didn't have a transponder system.

So tried google, ebay and amazon with no luck. Its a triangular key but seems like its specific for jdm subarus...

Thanks!

I have been through this and now have 2 x JDM keys complete with working central locking buttons.

Re transponder - locksmiths can copy/duplicate transponder chips - Try Exact Remote & Key Service, http://www.instantkey.co.nz/albany-northshore-locksmith.html

1. Purchase same key as you have from local wrecker that has central locking.

I used Strong for Subaru, key cost $40 incld gst and shipping.

2. Purchase triangle blank jdm key or folding key from ebay.

JDM triangle key blank, don't worry that is has 3 button holes. Swap the casing off the wreckers key onto it.

Folding key blank

3. Transfer central locking bits from wreckers key to ebay blank key

you now have a blank JDM key with central locking

4. Get key cut at locksmith - key can be cut to code so will be exactly as it was when brand new.

I used Exact Remote & Key Service, http://www.instantkey.co.nz/albany-northshore-locksmith.html

5. Sync up new central locking with car

Here's the relevant pages from the FSM,

Should have a working key with central locking after this.

also take note of the 5 or 4 digit code stamped on your OEM key if it exists, a good locksmith can cut a key from that code, or you will need to retrieve it off the Drivers door lock or supply the boot lock in the event of a "lost key"

reviving this thread....what is the best place to get a blank key with the transponder chip? If you get a key from a wrecker for the remote entry that has the same trnasponder chip, can they just reprogram that transponder and you chuck it in the blank blade you buy?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
