v3 type r intercooler water sprayer - help.

Hey Guys,

I picked up a 97 wrx sti v3 type r a couple of weeks ago.

It's got a front mount intercooler and the orginal water sprayer unit seems to have been removed?

I'm trying to locate where it would normally be so I can use the wiring. Can anyone help?

Want the water sprayer for the track day at flat Nats

A water sprayer on a front mount is a waste of time dude... spend your time elsewhere.

Why? It would effectively do the same thing.

It's located (if looking at the engine from the front) at the left behind the lights in front of where the ABS unit is or should be.

Yeah that's what I thought definitely gone. Any idea what the plug looks like? Otherwise I'll pull the multi meter out. thanks for your help

Why? because a water spray on a front mount will make an insignificant change to the temperature.

Only one way to find out. Cant see why it wouldnt help i just havent bothered with it yet. I asked on here about spraying water/meth on it have a search.

It's stock on late model mitsi evo's as well, it's use is more in pre-stage cooling as opposed to while the vehicle is in motion however

If you wanted to get creative it could also have use on the oil cooler instead if your car has a habit of running hot on track

I'll be doing the same thing in time. If it works for the EVO's there is no reason why it won't work for a front mounted Subaru.

I can send you a pic of the plugs but I won't be home for a bit.

The three wires that are free when I got my car with the intercooler spray missing. Two I believe are from the reservoir and the third is from the inlet temp sensor.

The white plug is for the spray motor... the other is for the reservoir empty warning light.
