Wouldn't go into 5th in S# unless you force it or flick back into S. 

Don't you need an upgraded/uprated valve body to handle higher power outputs?

For big power yea, but not completely necessary for the power he's gonna make with that turbo.

Found this kit the other day. apparently it works the same or is the same as a hexmods modded valve body. Have you herd anything about them @Andy_Mac?

How is the shifting compared to before he played around with it? Any better and are the shift points changed at all?

Na never heard of that option. Worth questioning its worth over on legacygt.com. They have alot more experience with Hexmods and modding 5EAT's in general.

Short version: can you set up paddle shift and how much power torque do they handle once modded?

Dunno. Never had much interest in the finer details of the auto stuff other than the concept of what Hexmods does as a whole. 

Facelift has paddleshifters but pre has to use the shift lever for manual gear changes

I think it would be a smart choice for the larger displacement builds where torque slays boxes.
