BL/BP Legacy Stereo surround / Aftermarket install?

DOHC

Recommended Posts

Literally just bought an '06 Legacy 3.0R and immediately want that factory stereo out and replaced with something bluetooth/ipod compatible. Cant seem to find any aftermarket surrounds yet i see other wagons with them installed. Anyone able to clue me in and/or have any tips and tricks for making this install easy as possible?

expensive I know - they do pop up cheaper every now and then

You will need to check the aircon unit matches yours

I'm also going to assume my factory set up is worth less than dirt to re-coup some of the funds too i bet..

Of its nz new then you might be able to sell it to someone with a jdm.

But generally speaking they arnt worth a lot

If its the factory kenwood unit you can get an aux in plug that goes into the back of the headunit too

Did this on mine - factory kenwood had button for 'aux' but didnt work and had no port - purchased a simple adapter off trademe and a few cables - now the button on the headunit works and have an aux port in the centre console box

This is what im working with... If that helps.

Yea so you will need this: (twin climate control) http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/accessories/auction-975834339.htm

Plus a headunit of your choice - you will also need a pocket to fill the gap if you go single din, an aerial adaptor to fit the new head unit if you want FM radio and wiring harnesses

That way just seems like such a compromise unless money is really tight. Hate the idea of having two stereos with one just not working. If you really want to go that route there is an upper clock cubby replacement item that fits double dinn HU's

Just save up for the lower one and get it from sobanoodle, sure its expensive but it just looks way tidier.

I wasn't a fan of that idea either... I ended up sticking mine in the glove box and having the aux in the centre console box (this was my bagged BP wagon about 6 years ago)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
